David Yates of Ephrata, WA

He was born on August 13, 1955, in Spokane, Washington to Russell and Phyllis Yates.

David is survived by his wife, Janice Yates; his children Kristin (Dwayne) Edwards, Kari (Jim) Chornuk, and Jason Yates; and his beloved grandchildren Brayden, Alexis, and Sidney Chornuk, and Jadon, Kimberly, Shay, and Emily Yates. He is also survived by his siblings John, Karen, Melani, Candi, Cal, and Paul.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Armin.

David built a respected career as an exceptional sales representative, known for his dedication, integrity, and ability to connect with anyone he met. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple, grounding parts of life—casting a fishing line on a quiet morning, tending to his yard, and spending time with the people he loved most.

Family was at the center of everything Dave did. Whether it meant traveling across town or across the state, he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his grandchildren at their sporting events. His presence—steady, supportive, and full of pride—was a constant in their lives.

Dave will be remembered for his warmth, his work ethic, his humor, and the unwavering love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the countless memories shared by those who knew him.
