EHS girls place fourth, boys fifth in CWAC golf matches

Stella Bayley finished one stroke shy of individual top honors Tuesday, and Cody Ogle posted the low round for the Ephrata boys, as the Tigers golf programs competed in their fourth round of Central Washington Athletic Conference pod matches.

Girls — April 7 | Ellensburg Golf & Country Club

On Tuesday, Ephrata's Stella Bayley shot a 92 (+19) to place second in the individual standings at Ellensburg Golf & Country Club, birdying holes 7 and 12 along the way. Bella Cha of Prosser finished in the number one spot at 91 (+18), one shot ahead of the Tiger senior. 

Among Bayley's teammates, Rayn Castillo carded a 104 (+31) to finish 11th, and Alyee Roberts with a 110 (+37) for 17th. Natalin Abundiz rounded out the Ephrata lineup at 135 (+62).

The Tigers posted a team total of 441 (+149) to place fourth in an eight-team CWAC field. Selah won the pod with 401 (+109), followed by Othello at 417 (+125) and East Valley at 422 (+130).

Boys — April 8 | Colockum Ridge Golf Course, Quincy

Yesterday, Cody Ogle led the Ephrata boys with an 80 (+9), finishing ninth in the individual standings at Colockum Ridge Golf Course, picking up a birdie on hole 12. Grady Braman of Grandview shot an even-par 71 to win in a 53-golfer field. 

The Tigers' Caiden Weber added an 82 (+11) for 11th place, while birdying holes 4, 7 and 18. Jett Julian shot an 85 (+14) and Caleb Moberg an 86 (+15).

Brady Hendrick (87, +16) and Noah Castillo (88, +17) also competed for Ephrata. Julian, Moberg and Brady Hendrick each birdied hole 6.

The Tigers totaled 333 (+49) to place fifth in a nine-team CWAC field, five strokes behind fourth-place Prosser (332) and 15 back of match winner Grandview (318, +34). Ellensburg and East Valley tied for second at 324 (+40).

The Ephrata boys return to action Monday, April 13, at CWAC Pod 5, hosted by Othello at Sage Hills Golf Club in Warden, with a 10 a.m. start. The girls host a dual with Chelan at Lakeview Golf and Country Club in Soap Lake on Tuesday, April 14, at 1 p.m.
