Elizabeth (Betty) Louise Rogers, 96, of Ephrata, WA, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, at Yakima Memorial Hospital. A memorial service celebrating Betty’s life will be held at the Ephrata United Methodist Church, Friday, October 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
Betty was born February 8, 1929, growing up in Spokane, WA. She married Edward A. Rogers, May 5, 1950 and they moved to Ephrata, WA in 1956. They remained in Ephrata, raising five children. Later, Betty was blessed with four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Betty was the organist for the Ephrata United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority for over 50 years; a Board Member of the Community Concert Organization; and active member of various community quilting groups. Her passion for quilting was enjoyed by so many, as having one of Betty’s quilts is a cherished possession by the family and friends she shared them with.
Betty was a warm and loving person who will be remembered for her kindness,
generosity, sense of humor, service, and love for family and friends. Spending time with Betty was a joy, as she had the ability to make everyone feel special.
One family member said of Betty, “She was a pistol! Raised a lot of kids, made a lot of quilts, brought a lot of fun and love to a lot of people. A life well lived.” Betty is survived by her husband of 75 years, Edward; along with three children, Christopher, Todd and Sheila. She was preceded in death by sons, Timothy and Kelly.
Friends and family are invited to the Ephrata United Methodist Church on October 24th, 2025 at 11 a.m. to celebrate Betty’s life.
