Hundreds treated to holiday meal, gifts on Christmas Day
EPHRATA – Over 500 free meals were served and hundreds of kids received gift bags during the annual Christmas dinner organized through His Helping Hands ministry and hosted Thursday by Our Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Ephrata.
EPHRATA – Over 500 free meals were served and hundreds of kids received gift bags during the annual Christmas dinner organized through His Helping Hands ministry and hosted Thursday by Our Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Ephrata.
“The day was amazing,” exclaimed Dawn Prince, who helps guide the local nonprofit program. “Lots of big families, and folks who just didn’t want to be alone on Christmas, too.”

Prince expressed special thanks to Our Redeemer Church for fundraising and hosting the holiday event for the third consecutive year; caterer Rene Kamstra for preparing the food; and dedicated HHH volunteers and donors helping the ministry serve low-income and homeless persons in Grant County.


The HHH Center is located at 29 Alder St. S.W., Suite B, in Ephrata and is open November through February on Mondays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The center provides free cold-weather clothing and personal hygiene items, resources for homeless persons including shower and laundry services by appointment, and financial assistance for transportation, gas, and utilities determined on a case-by-case basis. It also serves a free lunch on the first Monday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Donations of resources, financial contributions, and volunteering are welcomed.
