RIDGE KIDS’ FUNDRAISERS AID EPHRATA FOOD BANK

Tyler Wilson (left) and Silas Stredwick, fourth graders at Columbia Ridge Elementary, were greeted by Ephrata Food Bank volunteer Mary Mantz (center) on Thursday, Feb. 19, when the students presented a $471 donation on behalf of their school. The monies were collected by the Columbia Ridge ASB over two days through their “Caps for a Cause” and “Stuffies for a Cause” fundraisers. The events allowed students to wear a hat or bring a stuffed animal to school for the day — two things normally not permitted — with a $1 donation. Both students and staff generously contributed to the effort to benefit the food bank, said school officials. Photo provided by Ephrata School District
