EPHRATA — The Tigers showed some fight in a 43-19 loss to East Valley on Tuesday, Feb. 3, tying the game in the third quarter before the visiting Red Devils pulled away.

Trailing 13-8 at intermission, Ephrata came out of the locker room for the second half and got an early boost when Maycee Black buried a three off a Sophie Molitor dime to cut EV's lead.

On defense, Molitor hauled in a pair of defensive rebounds and Alexis St. Mary sank a free throw, bringing the score within two points. Brooklynne Addink then hit a jumper off another Molitor pass to tie the game at 14-all with four minutes left in the quarter.

But East Valley answered with an 8-0 run to close the third and outscored Ephrata 20-5 in the final period to put the game out of reach.

Jillian Linehan led the Tigers with 10 points, going 4-for-15 from the floor with a three-pointer and a free throw. Black finished with four points and a team-high nine rebounds. Addink and Rebecca Wiser each scored two and grabbed five boards apiece. Molitor didn't score but dished four assists and collected six rebounds in 31 minutes.
