EPHRATA — It was a harmonious evening, when singers in the Ephrata High School and Ephrata Middle School choirs filled the EHS Performing Arts Center gymnasium with music Wednesday, Oct. 29, during their fall concert.

Nearly 200 students shared their voices, comprising six choir ensembles that each performed multiple songs under the direction of EMS/EHS choir teacher Tim O'Donnell. The middle school singers opened the evening, followed by the high school's Treble Clef, Concert, Bass Clef, Harmonia, and Chamber choirs.

Accompanists for the evening were former student and O'Donnell's son, Gus O'Donnell, and Cecilia Couture. Sound technician Aaron Loeffelbein, a former EHS student and current Ephrata Public Library librarian, handled technical duties.

Waiting in the wings: choral students listened with the audience before their turn to take the stage. Collectively, 190 students from EMS and EHS participated across six choir ensembles.

The Ephrata School District music department will continue its concert series with the winter band concert Dec. 15 and winter choir concert Dec. 17.

The EHS Harmonia choir performs at the fall concert. The choral members are dedicated early risers: Harmonia is a "zero-hour" class which meets daily at 7 a.m. to practice and rehearse.

Making a joyful noise: the EHS Chamber Choir closed out Wednesday evening's performance. Andrew Crawford, Lila Buchmann and Connor Liffengren were featured soloists.
