Shirley was born on February 3, 1937. On April 2, 1953, she married the love of her life, Arther Eugene Phillips, in Carthage, Missouri. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion to family.
A devoted homemaker, Shirley poured her heart into caring for her family. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Ephrata, Washington, where her strong Christian faith guided her throughout her life. Her faith sustained her, especially after the passing of her beloved husband in 2014, as she looked forward to the promise of being reunited in heaven.
Shirley found joy in life’s simple blessings—spending time with her family, watching birds from her kitchen window, and sharing moments of love and laughter with those closest to her. Her family was her greatest treasure, and time spent together was the most important part of her life.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra Bevier of Tonasket, WA, Brenda Bevier of Ephrata, WA, and Carla (Archie) Shirley of Newport, WA; and her son, Arther Phillips Jr. of Newport, WA, and 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arther Eugene Phillips; her brothers and sisters; and her daughter, Angela.
Shirley will be remembered for her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives of those she cherished and the faith she so faithfully lived.
A graveside service will be held on January 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Ephrata City Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Ephrata, Washington.
