The Ephrata girls basketball team dropped two games last week, falling 60-43 to Quincy on Friday and 84-31 at sixth-ranked Selah on Saturday.

Quincy at Ephrata:

Freshman Maycee Black recorded a double-double, but 28 team turnovers and cold 3-point shooting doomed Ephrata in Friday's home loss to Quincy.

Black led the Tigers with 14 points and 15 rebounds, shooting 4-for-8 from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. Bailey Falconer added eight points on 4-for-4 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds. Jill Linehan chipped in nine points and Sophie Molitor dished out six assists.

Ephrata dominated the glass defensively, grabbing a season high 38 rebounds and out-boarding the Lady Jacks overall, 48-40. Alexis St. Mary helped pace the Tiger defense with three deflections and two steals.

Ephrata junior Bailey Falconer (12) looks to pass against Quincy on Friday night. Falconer finished with eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

However, the Tigers managed just 2-for-18 shooting from 3-point range and surrendered the ball too often to maintain a consistent offense.

Ephrata at Selah:

On Saturday, Ephrata shot its best percentage from 3-point range all season but remained troubled by turnovers, committing 39 in an 84-31 road loss to the Lady Vikings.

"We need to find a way to limit turnovers to give ourselves more opportunities to score," head coach Alain Black said.

Jill Linehan led the Tigers with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting, and was a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc. Maycee Black added 10 points, and Evangeline Springs, back from an injury, grabbed a team-high six rebounds.

Jillian Linehan (14) handles the ball on Friday. Saturday vs Selah, the junior paced Ephrata with 12 points in the loss.

Ephrata looks to get back on track at home on Saturday, Dec. 27, against Omak.

"Omak will want to get up and down the floor in transition," Black said. "We will need to play good help defense to stop the drive."
