YAKIMA — Stella Bayley shot 88 to win medalist honors Tuesday at CWAC Pod 6 at Yakima Country Club, leading the Ephrata girls to a 38-stroke team win and their fifth pod title of the season.

And a day earlier at Black Rock Creek Golf Course in Sunnyside, Caiden Weber's round of 77 paced the Tiger boys to a third-place team finish at CWAC Pod 6.

With her round of 88 (+16), which included birdying the first hole, Bayley claimed her third individual pod title of the season. Fellow senior Rayn Castillo finished with a 92 to tie Prosser’s Bella Cha for second.

The two Tigers' teammates also included Sophie Molitor, who carded a 96 to place sixth individually. Ceci Roth shot 112 for 14th, Alyee Roberts 114 for 18th, and Natalin Abundiz 153 for 45th.

The Tigers' team score of 388 outdistanced Othello and Selah — who tied for second at 426 — by 38 strokes.

Ephrata's girls have won five of six pods this season — the only blemish was a fourth-place finish April 7 at Pod 4 in Ellensburg. They remain atop the Central Washington Athletic Conference team standings with one pod match remaining Bayley leads the individual race by 30 points over Selah's Elaine Mower while Castillo sits third in the standings.

Boys — April 27 | Black Rock Creek Golf Course, Sunnyside

Weber's 5-over-par 77, which included a birdie on the par-5 sixth hole, was good for a seventh-place individual finish at Black Rock. Four strokes back, teammate Cody Ogle added an 81 for 13th, and Jett Julian and Caleb Moberg each carded 84 to tie for 16th. Sophomore Connor Roth birdied the par-4 fifth on his way to a 91, and Brady Hendrick shot 87.

Ephrata's team score of 326 placed third behind Ellensburg (313) and Grandview (314). Ellensburg freshman Axel Tornow shot 2-under 70 to place first on the day. Overall in the CWAC, the Tiger boys are third in the team standings behind East Valley and Ellensburg and Weber ranks eighth individually.
