Ephrata girls extend CWAC golf pod lead; boys third at Yakima
On Monday, Stella Bayley shot 91 to earn individual medalist honors at the fifth Central Washington Athletic Conference pod match at Black Rock Creek Golf Course, leading the Ephrata girls to a 32-stroke team win and their fourth pod title of the season.
And at the Yakima Country Club, Caiden Weber shot 79 to lead the Tiger boys to a third-place finish in their fifth pod match.

In pacing the field and claiming the individual title, Bayley's 91 (+19) led a strong showing by the Lady Tigers with three other teammates placing in the top five. Freshman Sophie Molitor finished third at 96, senior Rayn Castillo was fourth at 99 and junior Alyee Roberts finished fifth at 100.
Rounding out the EHS squad, seniors Cecilia Roth shot 103 for 11th and Natalin Abundiz also competed.

Ephrata's Caiden Weber shot 79 on the par-72 course to finish ninth individually on Monday, birdying the third hole.
Also for the Tigers, junior Jett Julian added an 83 for 11th with a birdie on the 17th, and seniors Cody Ogle and Brady Hendrick each carded an 86 to tie for 17th. Ogle birdied the 12th; Hendrick birdied the sixth. Senior Caleb Moberg also competed.
Ephrata's team score of 334 placed the Tigers third behind East Valley (317) and Prosser (331).
Girls — April 17 | Wandermere Golf Course (Spokane), Eleen Northcutt Invite
Last Friday, the Lady Tigers tied for seventh in a field of 24 teams at the Eleen Northcutt Invite. They placed even with Mt Spokane at 286 in a field dominated by Class 3A and 4A programs. Gonzaga Prep finished atop the team pile at 254, followed by 256 for Ridgeline (Liberty Lake) and Kamiakin (Kennewick) at 257.
Castillo paced Ephrata with a 92 to finish 19th, one stroke ahead of teammate Bayley, who shot 93 for 23rd. Roth and Molitor each carded 101 to tie for 41st.
CWAC standings
Ephrata girls lead the CWAC standings at 42 points through five of seven pods, three ahead of Selah (39) and four up on Othello (38). The Tigers have won four of five pods, with a fourth-place finish April 7 at Ellensburg.
Stella Bayley tops the individual standings with 212 points and a 90.4 scoring average, best in the CWAC. Castillo is third at 186, with Molitor (10th, 144) and Roberts (13th, 137.5) also ranking in the top 15.
The Ephrata boys sit third in the team standings at 32 points, behind East Valley (42.5) and Ellensburg (35.5). Weber ranks seventh individually at 173.5 points; Ogle (11th) and Julian (14th) also rank in the league's top 15.
Two pods remain before CWAC district play. The boys travel to Black Rock Creek Golf Course in Sunnyside for Pod Six on Monday, April 27, at 1 p.m. The girls play their sixth pod match at Yakima Country Club on Tuesday, April 28, at 10 a.m.
