Ephrata soccer blanks BP in eight-goal shutout win
EPHRATA – Tiger soccer dominated on both ends of the field Saturday, Oct. 4, in a non-league match with visiting Bridgeport, cruising to an 8-0 win.
The Tigers set the tone early, scoring five goals in the first half, then adding three more in the second while playing shutout defense.
Brooklynne Addink led the scoring with a hat trick, while Delanie Killinger added two goals. Jill Linehan, Bessy Arevelo, and Skarlett Sanchez each contributed a goal to round out the offense.
Ephrata’s defense and goalkeeping were just as impressive. Keeper Aiyana Valle recorded 31 saves, with Linehan adding one more, helping the Tigers preserve a shutout despite heavy offensive pressure from Bridgeport.
When they controlled the ball, the Lady Tigers generated 32 shots on goal, led by Killinger with six and contributions from Brooklynn Sieverkropp, Valle, Sophie Molitor, Alexis St. Mary, Linehan, McKinnley Graaff, Paige Murray, Addink, Bella Wood, Sanchez, and Arevelo. Assists were limited but effective, with Murray setting up Sanchez’s goal.
The win could give Ephrata (4-3-3) momentum and confidence heading into a Tuesday, Oct. 7 match with Selah, which leads the Central Washington Athletic Conference standings with a 6-3 record.
