DOWNTOWN TRICK OR TREAT
EPHRATA – The Ephrata Chamber of Commerce and participating businesses will sponsor downtown Halloween trick-or-treating for kids on Friday, Oct. 31, from 5-7 p.m.
Businesses will be spread throughout the downtown corridor and side streets, handing out treats to young ghouls and goblins. Families can also stop by “haunted” Rock Park/Sun Basin Plaza for candy and Halloween cheer.
To get ready, the chamber is currently hosting a candy drive: community members can drop off prepackaged candy at the chamber office, 61 Basin St. N.W., for distribution to participating businesses. For information, call 509-717-0050, email ephratawachamber@gmail.com, or visit the website.
HOSPITAL BOARD EYES 2026 budget
EPHRATA –Grant County Public Hospital District No. 3 commissioners have scheduled a special meeting for Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 5:35 p.m. at Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata to discuss the district’s proposed 2026 budget.
Provisions are being made for the public to attend the meeting by electronic means. Details, including a call-in phone number, will be posted on the district’s website, https://www.columbiabasinhospital.org/ During the meeting, the commission will consider any hospital district business that may come before it.
Notice of the meeting was issued on Monday, Oct. 27, by commission president Amy Paynter. The district will also publish a legal notice as required by state law in the Columbia Basin Herald newspaper in advance of the meeting.
VETERANS DAY CONCERT
QUINCY – Veterans Operation Creation will present a special Veterans Day concert on Nov. 11 featuring country music star Coffey Anderson.
The family friendly event is slated for 7 p.m. at the Quincy High School Performing Arts Center.
