Lady Tiger soccer scores first goals, volleyball takes first set; both seek first win today
Two losses left Ephrata soccer at 0-3 and volleyball at 0-4, but both teams showed signs of progress

Ephrata girls soccer lost 2-0 at Cascade (Leavenworth) on Tuesday and 3-2 to Othello on Thursday, falling to 0-3 on the season.
Against Othello (1-1), Brooklynne Addink and Ellie Molitor scored Ephrata's first goals of the season. The Lady Tigers fell behind 2-0 in the early in the contest, but evened the score at 2-2 by halftime.

Head coach Gary Klepec said his team is progressing while working in a new formation the staff unveiled against Cascade.
"I felt like we played well, but they are good," Klepec said of the Kodiaks. "We are trying a new formation that we introduced yesterday so still working through it on our non-league games."
The Lady Tigers host Cle Elum-Roslyn at 11 a.m. today (Saturday, Sept. 12) at the Ephrata High School soccer complex.
Volleyball
Ephrata volleyball dropped both matches this week, falling to 4A Moses Lake on Tuesday and to Othello on Thursday, to move to 0-4.
At Moses Lake, the Tigers picked up their first set win of the season, taking the third 28-26 before the Lady Mavericks (2-0) closed out the match. Moses Lake won the others 25-12, 25-17 and 25-9.

Sophomores Addison Vasquez led Ephrata with 11 kills while Sidney Chornuk added nine, along with a team-high nine digs. Junior Navi Kaur served four aces and added four digs, sophomore Ella Piturachsatit had six digs, and junior Clairissa Johnson recorded three blocks. Sophomore Scarlet Wolther finished with six kills and three digs.
Thursday's home match with Othello (1-1) was lost in straight sets, 25-14, 25-22, 25-8. Individual statistics from the match were not available.
Ephrata hosts Spokane's North Central (0-2) today at 11:30 a.m. on Marty O'Brien Court.
