QUINCY — Ephrata's girls wrestling squad claimed second place at the Bring Home da Beef tournament Saturday in Quincy, racking up 159.5 points behind team champion Moses Lake (196).

Lady Tigers Alexandra Estrada Rangel and Carolina Monico were each undefeated in winning their respective weight classes.

Estrada Rangel went 3-0 at 130 pounds. In the finals, she finished her day with a 15-7 major decision over Selah's Miley Zahler, scoring on three takedowns, two reversals and a nearfall.

In the 235-pound bracket, Monico pinned all her opponents, including a 31-second fall over Ridgeline's (Liberty Lake) Anna-Beth Colby for the championship.

Two other Ephrata wrestlers placed second after advancing to the finals.

Rayn Castillo (145) compiled a 2-1 record, pinning her first two opponents before falling to Ellensburg’s Karsyn Green.

At 155, Adylene Sanchez also finished as a runner-up, facing a familiar foe in Wapato's Abbygale Garza in the title bout. Garza won by major decision, improving to 4-1 against Sanchez in tournament championship matches over the past two years.

Ephrata's Gabbie Grace Bafus had a strenuous tourney, taking third overall with a 5-1 record after working through a half-dozen matches at 170 pounds. Her lone loss came by fall to R.A. Long's (Longview) Raileea Campbell earlier in the day. But Bafus found payback with a 3-0 decision over Campbell in a rematch for third place.

Other Tiger competitors included Natalin Abundiz (115) 2-2, Devanae Bazan (120) 2-2, Kashlynn Cobb (140) 1-2, Chenille Garcia (105) 1-2, Alexiyana Macneil (125) 1-2, Tessa Hausken (190) 1-2, Addison Vasquez (135) 1-2, Alejandra Barajas Guzman (100) 0-2
