EPHRATA – Ephrata wrapped up its home volleyball schedule Thursday with a 3-0 loss to Moses Lake at Marty O'Brien Court.

The larger Class 4A Lady Mavericks took all three sets – 25-15, 25-14, 25-17 – in a non-league match against the Class 2A Tigers.

Alexis Chornuk led Ephrata's offfense with 12 kills and three blocks while Izzlee Haney added eight kills and Addison Vasquez contributed five. Alyssa Dymarkowski distributed 29 assists and added 15 digs.

In the back court, Faith Rodriguez anchored the defense with 25 digs. Haney and Sidney Chornuk each recorded 14 digs, and Chornuk also posted three aces. At the service line, Kennedy Schafer paced the Tigers with four aces.

Ephrata finished seventh in Central Washington Athletic Conference standings at 2-6 in league play and 2-12 overall, claiming the seventh district-advancing seed. The Tigers face sixth-place Grandview (3-5) in a district play-in match this Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. in Grandview. Ephrata lost to Grandview 3-1 in an earlier matchup this season.

In other upcoming district action, Toppenish (2-6) travels to Othello (3-5) for a loser-out round. Second-place Prosser hosts third-place Selah, and league leader Ellensburg welcomes fourth-place East Valley. Winners advance to the semifinal round; losers face the winners of the play-in games.
