Ephrata softball went 4-0 across two league doubleheaders last week, sweeping Quincy on the road Saturday and Othello at home Thursday.

April 25 at Quincy — Ephrata 8, Quincy 0, Game 1

Tiger pitcher Haley Trusty silenced the Quincy bats in the opener, firing a one-hit shutout while striking out nine and surrendering no walks.

On offense, the Tigers broke through with four runs in the third inning. Brynnle Leonard scored on a Sidney Chornuk lineout. Bailey Falconer punched in Ella Piturachsatit and Dakota Durfee with a two-run single. Then Trusty helped her own cause by swatting an RBI single.

Ephrata generated three more runs in the sixth. Riley Trusty's bunt single drove in two, and she later scored on a passed ball. The Tigers added their final run in the top of the seventh on a Quincy error.

For the game, Haley Trusty batted 2-for-3 with a double while Falconer was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. The Lady Tigers racked up 14 hits in the contest.

April 25 at Quincy — Ephrata 6, Quincy 3, Game 2

The afternoon edition was tighter. Quincy scored two unearned runs in the first off Chornuk before Haley Trusty returned to the circle in the second inning. She gave up no earned runs in six innings of relief work to secure the win.

Chornuk, Riley Trusty and Piturachsatit all singled in the third, setting up Durfee's two-run double. Durfee scored on a passed ball later in the inning to take a 3-2 lead that Ephrata never relinquished.

Falconer added an RBI single in the fifth and another in a two-run seventh. The Lady Tigers capitalized on 12 hits to score six runs. Falconer and French each went 3-for-4 at the plate.

April 23 at Ephrata — Ephrata 14, Othello 7, Game 1

In the front end of a doubleheader with the visiting Huskies, Riley Trusty finished with a three-RBI outing; Falconer batted 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, and four runs scored; and Piturachsatit added a two-run double in Ephrata's five-run third inning.

The Lady Tigers tacked on five more runs in the fourth. Chornuk and Camila Martinez singled. Durfee and Falconer drove in runs. Riley Trusty scored two with a single to center. And Brynnle Leonard added an RBI single.

The Lady Huskies narrowed the gap by rallying for five runs in the fifth inning, capped by a two-run homer.

Haley Trusty went the distance in the circle, giving up six hits and striking out six on 120 pitches.

April 23 at Ephrata — Ephrata 10, Othello 7, Game 2

In the nightcap, Ephrata trailed early, falling behind 2-0 in the top of the first.

But in the bottom of the frame, Martinez jump-started the Tigers' offense with a leadoff home run to left, sparking a five-run rally. Chornuk walked, then scored on a dropped third strike that let Piturachsatit reach base. Durfee and Falconer singled, and Riley Trusty walked to load the bases and force in a run. Durfee and Falconer each scored on a passed ball during Hannah Hull's at-bat, and Hull singled to drive in Trusty.

Othello fought back with a two-run third inning and another score in the fourth.

In the sixth, Falconer and Riley Trusty padded Ephrata's lead with RBI hits.

Falconer finished batting 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Riley Trusty drove in two runs with her single and bases-loaded walk.

The Lady Tigers were aggressive once on base, stealing nine as a team.

Chornuk went the distance to earn the pitching win. Over seven innings, she struck out 11, allowed nine hits, and walked three but did not give up an earned run — all seven Othello runs were unearned.

Ephrata (9-5, 4th in CWAC) will close the regular season this Saturday, May 2, visiting third-place Ellensburg (8-4) for an 11 a.m. doubleheader.
