EPHRATA — A pair of local plant sales gave proof that spring was in full blossom Saturday morning in Ephrata.

At the high school, the annual FFA was concluding its three-day run in the EHS greenhouse. Ag instructor Meagan Haight said students prepped over 3,400 plants for the event, which featured a variety of flowers, herbs, grasses, succulents, and hanging baskets (some with special Tiger themes). Woodshop students also added planter boxes to the sale.

FFA member Madi Lembcke (above, holding clipboard), a junior at the high school, helped shoppers with their selections. Below, an array of rainbow coleus were among the many plant varieties featured at the sale.

A few blocks away, the Ephrata Garden Club was hosting its annual sale at the historical Nat Washington House. A crowd of visitors enjoyed the large assortment of perennials, herbs, vegetables, and house plants, along with custom crafts, decorative arrays, a raffle, and tasty snacks. Proceeds from the event help support other local clubs and projects.
