Cork + Craft Crawlers sipped, snacked, and stayed spooky

EPHRATA -- it was an evening for goblins and goblets Saturday when adult revelers got a head start on Halloween during the annual Cork + Craft Crawl sponsored by the Ephrata Chamber of Commerce and a baker’s dozen of businesses pouring samples provided by regional wineries and breweries.

Over 200 tickets were sold for the festive event with many of the hosts and participants dressed in costumes as they sipped, snacked, and strolled downtown Basin Street, “tasting maps” in hand.

Participating businesses and their guest winery/brewery included: The Coop by Rustic Rooster (Errant Cellars), The Rustic Rooster (Gard Estate Wines), First Interstate Bank (Pinnacle Beerworks and 1889 WA State), Moberg Law Group (Whipsaw Brewery and Gordon Estate), The Bookery (Whipsaw Brewery and Gordon Estate), The Floral Cottage (Jones of Washington), Sole Performance (Alexandria Nicole), Studio Fitness (Winchester Winery), The Ephrata Chamber of Commerce/Grocery Outlet (Ten Pin Brewing Co.), Columbia Basin Foundation (Icicle Brewing Co. and Killer Red), Paul Lauzier Foundation (Icicle Brewing Co. and Nine Canyon), Millie’s Wine Bar (Pinnacle Beerworks and ALKI), and Pita Pit (ALKI and Furion Cellars).

Chamber director Britney MacLeod expressed appreciation to all those involved and gave special thanks to Pam Leseman and the Pita Pit, which provided space for initial staging and ending festivities that included a food truck and music.

Here's a look at some of the fun ....

The circus was in town at the Moberg Law office, hosted by Melissa Baker, Mary Moberg, and a fluffy canine companion.
Janice Hunter (left) greeted a pair of spectral visitors in the ghostly Kelsey Stargel and Sarah Hunter.
The artiste, Bob Ross, daubing the final touches on his favorite canvas (Kurt and Chelan Kleyn) in their temporary studio at the Paul Lauzier Foundation.
No way! The Spice Girls showed up! (Amber Hoenes, Amber Baddley, and Jamie Osborne)
Lionesses Reid Skohnes (left) and Abbey Bradley, representing STCU Best of Broadway in Spokane, put in an appearance at Ephrata's Sole Performance. Get your tickets now.
Although over 200 tickets were sold, not everyone dressed up in costume, including these folks who gathered outside The Bookery.
But it was a different story inside the store, where these flower children -- Jeri Mickle (left), Deb Firestone, Linda White, Sheryl Dotson, and Kato Talbot -- greeted visitors. The hippie vibe and delicious offerings struck a chord with their guests, who voted The Bookery as the event's favorite pour location.
