The following law enforcement reports were posted Friday, Feb. 27, 2026:
EPHRATA POLICE
While on patrol around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24 in the 100 block of Fourth Avenue S.W., an officer observed a male subject talking to a female subject known to be wanted on outstanding superior and district court warrants. When the officer turned around and parked at the location, the man was standing alone adjacent to an unlocked shed. When questioned, the man allegedly denied seeing or being with the woman. Additional officers were requested and a search warrant process was initiated. The man allegedly locked the shed with a padlock, then left the scene. Officers made their presence known and the woman responded that she was inside the shed, but was willing to come out. Bolt cutters were used to remove the padlock and the woman, identified as 27-year-old Kelsie Marie Rogers of Ephrata, was taken into custody without incident. Officers then located the male subject a few blocks away. Tyler Lee Hammer, 34, Ephrata, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a law enforcement officer and making false or misleading statements to a public servant. Both were booked into the Grant County Jail. Soap Lake police also responded to the incident and provided assistance.
SOAP LAKE POLICE
At 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, an officer responded to the 400 block of South Ginkgo Street and contacted Soap Lake school officials regarding a 12-year-old female student in possession of drug paraphernalia. When questioned, the girl voluntarily surrendered cannabis vaping pens. A report will be submitted to the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of juvenile violation charges.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 4:13 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, in the 700 block of South Buttercup Street. A 55-year-old Soap Lake woman called authorities saying she had been physically accosted and choked by a male acquaintance during an argument. The suspect, 42-year-old Marco Anthony Velasquez of Soap Lake, denied the incident was physical, but he was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault (domestic violence) and booked into the Grant County Jail.
A theft was reported at 8:42 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, by 22-year-old man who said a female partner had placed his personal possessions outside a residence following an argument the prior evening. When he returned in the morning, the items were gone, police were told. The man also alleged the woman hit him in the back of the head after he punched a wall. No arrests were reported.
At 2:12 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, an officer assisted Ephrata police by locating a stolen vehicle observed on South Canna Street. The officer notified Ephrata police, who contacted the owner and the vehicle was recovered.
Last Thursday, Feb. 19, an officer on patrol observed spray-painted gang graffiti on multiple fences in the community. Notification slips were left at the propertities informing residents to remove or cover the markings as required by city code.
Following separate traffic stops over the past week, Nikolay Kozlov, 44, and Jose Cervantes Ruiz, 51, both of Soap Lake, were each cited for driving with suspended licenses.
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF
At 10:36 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, deputies responded to a request from the state Department of Corrections to take a male subject into custody on three district court jail commitments. Francisco Vargas Villa, 30, no address listed, was picked up and transported to the Grant County Jail.
A malicious mischief incident was reported at 2:37 p.m. Monday in the 6700 block of Road U-SE. Deputies were told that a male subject had threatened to kill two individuals and caused damage estimated at $1,000 to a video camera and an internet connection box. Frangel Calderon, 33, Warden, was booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of second-degree malicious mischief, harassment/threats to kill, and resisting arrest.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 2:32 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, in the 3100 block of Bow Street NE near Moses Lake. A female caller told authorities that a male family member had thrown a chair and dragged her by the foot during an argument. But the man told deputies that he had been slapped in the face and kicked in the stomach by the woman, 38-year-old Robin N. Gladieux Smith of Moses Lake, who was arrested and booked into the county jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
At 10:16 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, a deputy stopped a motorist for allegedly speeding on State Route 28 East. Wesley Thomas Nelson, 24, Ephrata, was cited for driving with a suspended license and taken into custody on three district court warrants. He was booked into the county jail.
DRIVER KILLED IN THREE-VEHICLE WRECK NEAR QUINCY
QUINCY – A woman was killed in a three-vehicle collision reported at 6:47 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, on State Route 281, about three miles south of Quincy, reported the Washington State Patrol.
The victim was identified as 46-year-old Eva Santiago Santos of George.
Troopers said Santos was stopped in the highway’s southbound lane, waiting to turn east onto Road 6-NW when her 2001 Nissan Altima sedan was struck from behind by a southbound 2017 Freightliner tractor and trailer driven by Sergio Alfaro Regalado, 38, of Quincy.
The impact pushed the Nissan into the northbound lane when it was struck again by an oncoming 2001 Toyota Corolla sedan driven by Jose D. Gutierrez-Salcedo, 31, of Tieton.
Santos sustained fatal injuries in the collisions and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the WSP report. Neither Regalado or Gutierrez-Salcedo were hurt. All three drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Both the Nissan and Toyota were totaled while the Freightliner received reportable damage. The three vehicles were towed from the scene.
Troopers said the incident is under investigation and unspecified charges are pending against Regalado.
The following law enforcement reports were posted Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026:
EPHRATA POLICE
A disturbance was reported at 3:49 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, in the 1100 block of Basin Street S.W. Police were told that two male subjects were observed in a physical altercation adjacent to the street. Officers contacted a 68-year-old Ephrata man who said he was falsely accused of owing money to the other man, identified as 38-year-old Ryan M. Newman of Ephrata. The older man said Newman then placed him in a choke hold after threatening to kill him. When detained, Newman allegedly struggled and pushed one officer before being taken into custody. He was booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of second-degree assault and resisting arrest. The alleged victim declined medical assistance.
At 9:24 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, a bomb threat was received on a crisis hotline. The caller claimed a bomb would detonate in 15 minutes at the Ephrata Middle School. The call was determined to be a hoax.
At 10:11 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, police were notified of a theft in progress in the 1300 block of Nat Washington Way. Officers located a male suspect, identified as Tommy D. Wiggins, 35, Soap Lake, in the parking lot at the Ephrata Walmart. It was determined that Wiggins had previously been trespassed from the property after an alleged theft a week earlier. Wiggins was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary and an outstanding district court warrant. He was booked into the county jail.
SOAP LAKE POLICE
A vehicle prowl was reported at 6:46 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, in the 100 block of North Daisy Street. An officer contacted a 28-year-old woman from Yakima and took a report of the incident. No suspects were immediately identified.
At 4:01 p.m. Wednesday, an officer assisted other law enforcement agencies by providing traffic control at the scene of a two-vehicle collision on State Route 28 between Soap Lake and Ephrata.
At 12:13 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, an officer located a wanted subject near the intersection of Daisy Street and Fourth Avenue S.E. Artur Vasil Yevich Voznyy, 48, Soap Lake, was arrested on a district court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of fourth-degree assault. Voznny was booked into the Grant County Jail.
Javier Bautista, 23, Soap Lake, was cited for driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop at 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, near the intersection of State Route 17 and Road 19-NE.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 9:42 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, in the 500 block of South Aster Street. Officers contacted a 20-year-old woman who said the argument was only verbal. While she was being interviewed, the other involved individual reportedly fled out a window at the residence.
While driving at 2:48 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, an officer observed an unleashed dog run across Road 20-NW toward an older couple walking their leashed dog. The officer attempted to contact the owner of the unleased animal, but no one answered the door at the residence. A notice of infraction will be mailed to the owner.
Kolby Brown, 32, Ephrata, was cited for driving with a suspended license and expired vehicle registration following a traffic stop at 4:37 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, in the 200 block of Road 20-NW.
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF
While on patrol at 7:41 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, a deputy stopped a motorist exceeding the speed limit at the intersection of Airway Drive NE and West Valley Road near Moses Lake. It was determined that the driver, 21-year-old Brandon L. Chavez-Vazquez of Quincy, was driving with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle without a required alcohol-ignition interlock device, and had two outstanding district court warrants. He was taken into custody and booked into the Grant County Jail.
While on patrol at 1:39 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, a deputy allegedly observed a driver on a curb inside the intersection roundabout of Grape Drive and State Route 17 at Moses Lake. Following a traffic stop, Jose Carza, 21, Moses Lake, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into the Grant County Jail.
At 6:23 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, deputies located a wanted subject sleeping in a car in the Moses Lake Sand Dunes. Johnny Manuel Savala, 39, no address listed, was taken into custody on a U.S. Marshal’s felony warrant and booked into the county jail.
A theft was reported at 9:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, in the 23900 block of Road M-SW near Mattawa. Authorities were told that a 2014 Model M8540 Kubota tractor had been stolen overnight. No suspects were identified.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 7:33 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, in the 9900 block of Maple Drive NE near Moses Lake. The complainant said a male acquaintance had pushed her and tore her clothes during an argument, then left the residence. Victor Hugo Gonzalez Garcia, 32, Moses Lake, was later located and arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and booked into the county jail.
A report of suspicious circumstances was received at 5:20 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, in the 19000 block of Road A.5-NE near Soap Lake. The complainant said his 16-year-old son was in possession of marijuana, vaping supplies, and a grinder used in drug processing after returning home from a visit to a female family member. The incident was under investigation.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 11:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, in the 20000 block of Linden Road NW, west of Soap Lake. Deputies were told two male family members had been involved in a physical altercation and a 54-year-old man was attacked and placed in a choke hold. The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Blake Black, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault (domestic violence) and booked into the county jail.

EPHRATA POLICE
On Sunday, Feb. 8, officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of E Street N.E. It was determined that a male subject was at the location in violation of a court no-contact/protection order following his Jan. 30 arrest on suspicion of malicious mischief and interfering with reporting of domestic violence. Gadge E. Reeves, 19, Ephrata, was taken into custody for the alleged court order violation and booked into the Grant County Jail.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, in the 2200 block of Basin Street S.W. Police were told that a male subject became upset with a nephew who brought a girlfriend to stay at the residence a few days earlier after previously being told he could not do so. During an ensuing argument, 32-year-old Miguel Angel Guzman Aleman of Ephrata, allegedly displayed a kitchen knife and made threats. He was initially arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree assault (domestic violence), but formally charged on Feb. 4 with two counts of felony harassment/threats to kill.
SOAP LAKE POLICE
At 3:08 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, police assisted Grant County sheriff’s deputies by responding to a noise complaint in the 300 block of Ephrata Avenue NW in Lakeview Park. An officer contacted a resident and advised their music was too loud. The resident complied and lowered the volume.
At 4:12 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, police were advised that a woman was screaming for help at an apartment in the 300 block of South Division Street. Responding officers found a partially open door, but received no response when announcing themselves. They entered the premises on the basis of community caretaking and contacted a female who said she was the only one in the residence and gave no indication of trouble.
Samuel Guzman-Herrera, 28, Ephrata, was cited for driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop at 1:49 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, near the intersection of State Route 28 and Road B-NW.
At 7:18 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, police responded to a request for a welfare check at a residence in the 700 block of 3rd Place S.E. Officers were told that a dog at the location had been left outside over two consecutive nights and the owner had not been seen. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to contact someone inside, officers made entry into the residence and found the deceased occupant. There was no indication of foul play. The county coroner and next of kin were notified.
At 5:52 p.m. last Tuesday, Feb. 3, officers were at Soap Lake High School when they observed a male subject with family members in the gym for a sports event. It was determined that the man’s presence was in violation of a valid court no-contact/protection order. Kolton Joseph Dana, 33, Soap Lake, was taken into custody and booked into the Grant County Jail.
At 2:15 p.m. last Tuesday, Feb. 3, an officer observed that a city official was in possession of documents involving a former SLPD employee now involved in pending litigation. The officer obtained the documents and placed them into evidence storage.
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF
At 11:38 a.m. Wednesday, authorities were notified of a possible court order violation in the 1200 block of Road L-NE. Deputies were told that a male subject was in proximity of a neigbhor despite a valid no-contact/protection order. Joey Ellis Bernard, 67, Moses Lake, was taken into custody for the alleged violation and booked into the Grant County Jail.
Following a traffic stop at 4:47 a.m. Wednesday on First Avenue N.W. in Ephrata, Jeremy McCurdy, 44, Soap Lake, was cited for driving with a suspended license, expired vehicle registration, no proof of vehicle liability insurance, and failure to stop at an intersection stop sign.
At 9:27 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8, a deputy located a wanted subject in the 200 block of B Street S.E. in Quincy. The suspect, 28-year-old Jorge Vasquez of Quincy, was booked into the county jail on suspicion of violating a court no-contact/protection order and two counts of felony harassment/threats to kill. The case investigated by Moses Lake police alleged that Vasquez sent multiple messages a day earlier threatening to kill a former girlfriend and her current partner despite a valid no-contact order in effect since 2023.
While on patrol at 3:02 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, a deputy conducted a traffic stop of an erratically driven vehicle with no headlights on State Route 281 about eight miles south of Quincy. The female driver allegedly had an expired license, falsely claimed she owned the vehicle, and refused to provide registration and insurance information. Katrina Tuttle, 53, Beverly, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a law enforcement officer and booked into the county jail.
On Sunday, Feb. 8, Carlos Lucas Nicolas, 18, Mattawa, was transferred from juvenile custody and booked into jail on charges of fourth-degree assault, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), and violation of a court no-contact/protection order. Lucas was accused of grabbing two female acquaintances and behaving in a violent manner on Feb. 2 at a residence in the 400 block of Q Street S.E. in Quincy. Lucas was reportedly upset that one of the females was video-calling another male subject whom Lucas did not like. He was also in proximity of a nearby residence in violation of a valid protection order, authorities alleged. Deputies and Quincy police used an aerial drone to find the suspect after he fled on foot to a rural location about a mile away.
A theft attempt was reported at 9:03 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, in the 16700 block of West Baseline Road South near George. Authorities were told that a perimeter fence had been breached overnight at the Lad Irrigation Co. storage yard, and someone tried to drag a spool of electrical wire out through the fence.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 9:09 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, in the 7300 block of Road 10-NW, south of Ephrata. Authorities told that a male subject involved in an argument with family members had shoved a 24-year-old woman and 11-year-old boy. Efrain Castaneda Covarrubia, 53, Ephrata, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
A domestic disturbance was reported at 9:18 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 1, in the 6500 block of Road I-NE near Moses Lake. The complainant told authorities that a female subject was screaming and yelling outside a nearby residence. Deputies determined that a male acquaintance had been involved in a physical altercation with the 20-year-old woman and had damaged property. Lukas Evan Villarreal, 19, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence).
WASHINGTON STATE PATROL
Two injured in collision east of Quincy
Two people were injured in a three-vehicle collision Thursday evening on State Route 28 West at the intersection of Adams Road, about three miles east of Quincy, reported the Washington State Patrol.
Troopers said Bill E. Weger, 77, Moses Lake, was driving east when his 2015 Ford Mustang traveled onto the highway shoulder where two other vehicles were parked with two individuals standing between them.
The Mustang struck a 2010 Ford Fusion sedan, pushing it into a 2020 Toyota Camry and pinning the two people between the stationary cars.
The injured persons were identified as Axel D. Medina, 23, and Alejandra Hernandez Orozco, 48, both of Quincy. Both were transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center for medical care.
Weger, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not hurt in the collision, which was reported at 7:15 p.m. Troopers said he faces a charge of improper lane usage.
All three vehicles received reportable damage and were towed from the scene.

EPHRATA POLICE
At 8:10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, police were notified of a possible theft of merchandise in the 1300 block of Nat Washington Way. Officers responded to the Ephrata Walmart and were informed a male subject had returned to the store after previously being banned from the premises. Marc Bryan Sass, 39, Ephrata, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal trespass and booked into the Grant County Jail.
At 12:39 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, police were notified of a possible court order violation. Officers were told that a male subject sent numerous online messages to a protected female domestic assault victim. The suspect, 25-year-old Sergio Villafana of Ephrata, was arrested in the 1700 block of C Street S.W. and booked into jail for violating a court no-contact/protection order.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 11:22 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, in the 300 block of E Street N.E. Officers were told that a male subject was screaming at a 22-year-old female acquaintance, had tried to stop her from calling police, and punched a hole in a wall. Gadge E. Reeves, 19, Ephrata, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence) and interfering with reporting of domestic violence.
A theft was reported at 3:43 p.m. last Tuesday, Jan. 27, in the 1300 block of Nat Washington Way. Police were told that a male subject had shoplifted merchandise from the Ephrata Walmart after previously being banned from the premises. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Tyler Sedro Redin of Ephrata, was later located at his residence, arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary and third-degree theft, and booked into jail.
SOAP LAKE POLICE
At 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29, an officer observed a male subject enter a vehicle occupied by a female acquaintance who drove him to a location near the intersection of State Route 28 West and North Division Road. The officer confirmed that the man, identified as 41-year-old Kyle Schulz of Soap Lake, was in violation of a court no-contact/protection order. Schulz was taken into custody and booked into the Grant County Jail.
A 17-year-old Soap Lake boy was cited for no valid operator’s license and no proof of vehicle liability insurance following a traffic stop at 2:57 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, near the intersection of South Division Street and State Route 28 East.
Following a traffic stop at 8:27 a.m. last Tuesday, Jan. 27, near the intersection of Daisy Street and Fourth Avenue S.E., Kimberly Nelson, 45, Marlin, was cited for driving with a suspended license.
A report of suspicious circumstances was received at 6:02 p.m. last Monday, Jan. 26, in the 100 block of Sixth Avenue S.E. A 47-year-old Soap Lake woman told police that an unwanted acquaintance was in a vehicle parked outside her residence. An officer contacted the individual, who was trespassed from the property.
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF
While on patrol at 3:34 a.m. Monday, a deputy pulled over a driver on Interstate 90 for a lane-travel violation near George. Alvin Ray Watson, 56, no town listed, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, alcohol-ignition interlock violation, and an outstanding district court warrant. Watson was booked into the Grant County Jail.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 12:44 a.m. Monday in the 2000 block of Lower Crab Creek Road-SW near Beverly. Authorities were told that a 25-year-old woman “had issues” with a male acquaintance and needed assistance. Responding deputies arrested 23-year-old Yovani Moreno Rosas, 23, on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and booked him into the county jail.
A fraud attempt was reported at 12:19 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Daley Drive NE near Moses Lake. The caller told authorities that she received a text message from an unknown person showing the body of a deceased female and claiming that she would be killed within 12 hours unless she submitted $1,000 through PayPal.
At 7:29 p.m. Sunday, authorities were informed that a 19-year-old Quincy woman was being treated at a local hospital after allegedly being assaulted a day earlier by a male acquaintance at a location in the 1200 block of Larson Boulevard NE near Moses Lake. The woman said the suspect had been drinking, threatened to kill her, took away her phone, and punched, choked, and bit her in an ensuing attack. Carlos Javier River, 19, Moses Lake, was later arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree assault (domestic violence), interfering with reporting of domestic violence, and felony harassment/threats to kill.
At 11:53 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, a deputy conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Roads 3-NE and U-NE, east of Moses Lake. It was determined that the driver, 34-year-old Krystal JeanMarie Sims, was wanted on a state Department of Corrections detention warrant. She was taken into custody and booked into jail.
Following a traffic stop at 2:03 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at the intersection of Roads R-SW and 26-SW near Mattawa, 21-year-old Pedro Lucas Pedro Baltazar was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence and alcohol-ignition interlock violation.
At 2:04 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, deputies contacted a wanted person at the intersection of Joanne Drive and Market Street NE near Moses Lake. Stephanie Lynn Jackson, 35, was taken into custody on outstanding district court warrants and booked into jail.
At 1:12 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29, deputies were notified that a 9mm handgun was missing and believed to have been stolen from a residence in the 4400 block of Grape Drive NE near Moses Lake. The complainant identified a male acquaintance as a possible suspect. Deputies obtained a search warrant for a pickup and camper in the 9400 block of Maple Drive NE, and allegedly recovered the missing firearm and another handgun. The vehicle owner, 32-year-old Jamie Jerison West of Moses Lake, who had a prior felony assault conviction, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of theft of a firearm and two counts of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
During an attempted traffic stop at 10:23 p.m. last Wednesday, Jan. 28, deputies and other law enforcement engaged in a high-speed vehicle pursuit in the greater Moses Lake area, including Paxson Drive and Grape Drive. The male driver eventually struck trees and a curb, breaking the vehicle’s front axle, and fled on foot to the College Apartments where he allegedly tried to gain entry to a unit. Hunter Barak Grant, 26, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle, resisting arrest, obstructing a law enforcement officer, and attempted residential burglary.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 3:25 a.m. last Sunday, Jan. 25, in the 23100 block of Road 6-SE near Warden. Authorities were informed that a male subject, described as intoxicated, told family members that he intended to “shoot up the house” and discharged a shotgun into the kitchen ceiling. Johnny Alvarez, 19, Warden, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 1:14 a.m. last Sunday, Jan. 25, in the 19700 block of Road 2.5-SW near George. Authorities were told that a male subject had pushed a female family member and broke a window in their trailer. The woman then swung a kitchen knife at the man, cutting his finger, and broke a television, according to the report. Ana Xochitl Rodriguez, 44, George, was arrested for second-degree assault (domestic violence) and third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence). Irvin Alfredo Rodriguez, 25, George, was arrested for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence). Both were booked into jail.
