Ephrata golf opens spring with girls CWAC title; Weber, Bayley lead at invites
GIRLS
QUINCY/EAST WENATCHEE — The Ephrata girls golf team won the first Central Washington Athletic Conference Girls Pod at Colockum Ridge Golf Club on Wednesday, then turned around and finished fifth in a 4A-heavy field at the East Wenatchee Invite on Thursday.
CWAC Pod #1 — Colockum Ridge Golf Club
The Tigers shot a combined 364 on the par-71 course to edge runner-up Othello by six strokes. Selah was third at 413, East Valley (Yakima) fourth at 436.
Senior Cecilia Roth paced Ephrata with an 88 (+17) to finish third individually, just one stroke behind Eileen Garza of Othello and Elaine Mower of Selah. Roth birdied on the par-3 12th hole.
Fellow Tiger seniors Rayn Castillo and Stella Bayley each carded a 91 (+20) to tie for fifth. Castillo picked up birdies on the sixth and 12th holes before closing with an even-par 4 on hole 18. Bayley parred seven holes on the day.
Freshman Sophie Molitor went 94 (+23) to finish ninth. Junior Alyee Roberts (108) and freshman Leola Jones (152) also competed. Roberts birdied the par-4 18th to close her round.
In other team scoring, Ellensburg was fifth at 447, followed by Prosser (471), Grandview (478), Quincy (534) and Toppenish (605).
East Wenatchee Invite — Columbia Links Golf Course
Competing against mostly Class 4A programs on the par-72 Columbia Links course, Ephrata shot 294 to finish fifth in an 11-team field. Gonzaga Prep won at 270, followed by Lewis & Clark (276), Eastmont (282) and West Valley-Yakima (285).
Stella Bayley shot 86 (+14) to tie for fourth overall — she had the top score among all 2A golfers in the field, the only birdie on the day for Ephrata, and converted on the par-5 fifth hole. The three golfers who finished ahead of her all came from 4A programs.
Also for Ephrata, Castillo shot 101 (+29), finishing 21st and Molitor finished 107 (+35). Roth (112) and Roberts (107) also competed.
Riley Wilfong of Cle Elum-Roslyn paced the field with a five-over 77.
BOYS
The Ephrata boys golf team placed fourth in the 2026 CWAC Boys Pod #1 at Lakeview Golf & Country Club on Thursday, after finishing fifth Monday in the 20th annual Grandview Boys Golf Invite at Black Rock Creek Golf Course.
CWAC Boys Pod #1 — Lakeview Golf & Country Club
LAKEVIEW PARK — The Tigers recorded a 357 (+69) on the par-72 Lakeview course to finish fourth among nine league teams.
East Valley (Yakima) led Thursday's field at 338 (+50), with Othello (351) and Ellensburg (352) edging Ephrata for second and third. Grandview was fifth at 367.

Junior Caiden Weber paced Ephrata with an 86 (+14), finishing ninth overall. Seniors Andrew Jacobsen shot 88 (+16) to place 13th, followed by Cody Ogle at 90, (+18) to round out the Tigers’ top three. Ogle opened even on the par-4 first hole and closed with par on the par-5 18th.
Juniors Jett Julian and Rogan Homer and sophomore Caleb Moberg each shot 93 (+21). Julian birdied the 480-yard, par-5 fourth.
East Valley's Ayden Kline was the top individual with a two-over 74.
20th Annual Grandview Boys Golf Invite — Black Rock Creek Golf Course
SUNNYSIDE — Playing four days earlier on the par-72 Black Rock Creek course, Ephrata shot 324 (+36) to place fifth in a 15-team field. Cheney 2 won at 300 (+12), followed by West Valley of Yakima (319), Ridgeline (322) and Grandview (323). The Tigers finished one stroke behind the host Greyhounds.
Weber led Ephrata, shooting a solid 74 (+2) to finish fifth overall while birdying the par-5 third and 13th holes.
Teammates Ogle, Homer and Moberg each 11 strokes back at 85 (+13) to round out Ephrata's four counting scores. Ogle picked up birdies on the seventh and 16th, both par-4 holes. Freshman Noah Castillo also competed, finishing at 95 (+23).
Ephrata also entered a second team, which finished 14th at 368. Senior Andrew Jacobsen led that group with an 88 (+16), followed by sophomore Connor Roth (91), senior Brady Hendrick (92), junior Jett Julian (97) and sophomore Wyatt McMullen (100).
Cheney's Noah Ragaza-Bourassa and Blake Kernen tied for first, each shooting a 72.
