Ephrata soccer falls in shootout to Quincy
QUINCY – The Ephrata Tigers battled Basin rival Quincy – the second-place team in the Central Washington Athletic Conference standings – to a scoreless tie during regulation play Tuesday, Sept. 30, but the Lady Jackrabbits prevailed in a 4-3 shootout to claim the win.
The tightly contested match showcased the Tigers’ resilience, even in defeat, and head coach Gary Klepec praised his team's effort.

“That’s a tough one to break down. We all showed such character,” Klepec said afterward. “Lila (Rainey) was injured and worked incredibly. Page Murray was also injured but had the heart to get back on the field and contribute. Defensively, we played very well across the line.”
Klepec said his squad will focus on finishing its scoring opportunities in preparation for its next match.
“We have the potential to do more scoring than we are, but it should come,” he said.
Next up, the Tigers – now 3-3-3 on the season — face Bridgeport on Saturday, Oct. 4, at noon.
