Ephrata Chamber gets nostalgic with 2026 Cork + Craft Crawl
EPHRATA — The Ephrata Chamber of Commerce is planning an evening of sipping, shopping, and nostalgic fun next month with the 2026 Cork + Craft Crawl on Saturday, Oct. 17. The theme is “Homecoming Rewind — '80s, '90s & 2000s."
From 4-7 p.m., adult patrons can dress up in their favorite decade’s fashions while visiting participating downtown businesses to browse and sample a select variety of wine, beer, and ciders.
“Each crawl stop will be decked out in its own retro-inspired Homecoming theme, making every stop a chance to step back in time and enjoy something new,” the chamber announced.
That will be followed by the “Homecoming Rewind After Party” from 7-9 p.m. at the Ephrata Recreation Center featuring music, dancing, food and drink options, and a photo op to capture that throwback look.
Whether it’s big hair, neon, and shoulder pads from the 1980s or rhinestones, low-rise jeans and pop hits from the new millennium, guests are invited to “pick your decade, dress like it’s Homecoming, and come ready to party!”
Single tickets for the evening cost $50 and are on sale now. Must be age 21 or older with valid ID. There is also a $25 “social stroller” ticket option for those not participating in the alcohol tastings. It includes a coffee beverage from The Bookery, snacks along the crawl, and admission to the ERC after-party.
Household hazardous waste disposal events
EPHRATA — Grant County residents may dispose of household hazardous wastes at no cost during two upcoming events, one in Grand Coulee and one in Ephrata.
Dates, times, and locations are:
Grand Coulee — Friday, Sept. 25, noon to 4 p.m., Delano Regional Transfer Station, 22151 Alcan Road NE;
Ephrata — Saturday, Sept. 26, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Grant County Public Works complex, 124 Enterprise St. S.E. (near the Ephrata Airport).
The free disposal events are open to all city and rural households in Grant County.
A list of accepted and non-accepted wastes can be viewed on the county Public Works/Solid Waste website. Limits apply for paint, gasoline, oil, antifreeze, rechargeable batteries, vape pens with built-in batteries, and fluorescent light tubes, CFL bulbs, and high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps.
Waste should be brought in original non-leaking containers, and all other containers should be clearly labeled. Gasoline containers will not be returned.

Tickets on sale for Masquers’ musical, “Anastasia”
SOAP LAKE — Tickets are on sale now for the Masquers Theater’s upcoming production of “Anastasia: The Musical.”
Audiences are invited to experience the magic, romance, and adventure of the acclaimed play, which opens Oct. 16 and continues with weekend showings through Nov. 8.
From Tony Award-winning creators Terrence McNally, Stephen Flaherty, and Lynn Ahrens, the musical follows Anya, a young woman with no memory of her past, as she journeys from the streets of St. Petersburg, Russia to Paris, France in the 1920s in search of her identity and a place to call home.
Pursued by a determined Soviet officer, Anya enlists the help of a charming con man and a lovable former aristocrat. Together, they embark on an unforgettable adventure filled with mystery, romance, humor, and music.
The Masquers production is directed by Rachel Bresee and Stacey Bresee, with Clark Dalton as music director.
“This cast is doing such a wonderful job. There are so many songs and lots of choreography but the cast has jumped right in to learn it all as fast as they can,” said Stacey Bresee.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Fridays and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. For advance tickets and additional information, visit the Masquers website.
QCBID irrigation turnoff dates
QUINCY — The Quincy-Columbia Basin Irrigation District has announced final dates for the 2026 irrigation season, said secretary-manager Roger Sonnichsen.
Wednesday, Oct. 21 will be the last day for water delivery changes; Thursday, Oct. 22 will be the last full day of water delivery; and Friday, Oct. 23 will be the turnoff date for irrigation water at the head of the West Canal.
Saturday, Sept. 5, was the last Saturday for QCBID ditchrides this season. No water changes will be made on a weekend unless it is an emergency. Weekend canal surveillance will continue with supervisory personnel. Telephone voice messages may be left until 11:30 a.m. on Sundays for Monday water deliveries.
Water users should contact their ditchrider or area watermaster with any questions about the upcoming schedules, said Sonnichsen.
