The following law enforcement reports were posted Friday, June 5, 2026:
EPHRATA POLICE
An animal incident was reported at 12:49 a.m. Thursday, June 4, in the 800 block of Frey Road NW. While on patrol, an officer saw two goats running in the street. The officer contacted the goats and, unable to locate their owner, took them into custody. They were placed in the city pound for safekeeping.
Marc B. Bass, 39, Ephrata, was cited for driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop at 9:33 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, on the 1000 block of Basin Street N.W.
A theft was reported at 2:05 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, in the 1300 block of Nat Washington Way. Police were told a male subject fled from the Ephrata Walmart after being stopped by store personnel for alleged shoplifting. The man drove away in a black truck which officers later located. They determined the driver, Shane Dale Bowlin of Custer, had previously been banned from Walmart properties. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary and booked into the Grant County Jail.
At 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, police located a wanted person in the 1200 block of A Street S.E. Tracy Dawn Johnson, 54, Ephrata, was taken into custody and booked into jail on an outstanding district court warrant.
Paul A. Knight, 63, Ephrata, was cited for driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop at 9:07 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, in the first block of C Street N.W.
A malicious mischief incident was reported at 8:23 a.m. Tuesday, June 2. The complainant told police that two rocks were thrown through windows at her home in the 200 block of D Street N.W. Sunday night. No suspects were immediately identified. A wallet found at the scene was returned to its owner, who had reported suspicious persons by his car that same evening.
A report of unusual circumstances was received at 1:43 p.m. Monday at the intersection of State Route 282 and A Street S.E./Dodson Road. An officer contacted a male subject who was sweeping the intersection roundabout. The man was told to stay out of the roundabout.
A two-vehicle, non-injury collision was reported at 12:29 p.m. Monday, June 1, in the 400 block of Fourth Avenue N.W. Police said a 17-year-old Ephrata girl was cited for making an improper U-turn in which her 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee’s passenger-side headlamp struck the driver’s door of a parked 2006 Chrysler van.
A two-vehicle, non-injury collision was reported at 11:16 a.m. Sunday, May 31 at the intersection of State Route 282 and A Street S.E./Dodson Road. Police said Sally K. Campbell Nelson, 68, Chelan, failed to yield the right-of-way while entering the intersection roundabout and her 2014 Chevrolet Cruze struck a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Breann M. Edwards, 26, Ephrata. The Traverse sustained reportable damage and was towed from the scene.
A disturbance was reported at 3:11 a.m. Sunday, May 31, in the 400 block of C Street N.E. The complainant said a male subject who appeared intoxicated was trying to enter her home and would not leave the porch. The homeowner declined to seek criminal charges, but asked officers to remove the man from her property. The man was identified and provided a courtesy ride to his residence.
While on patrol at 11:57 p.m. Saturday, May 30, an officer encountered a cat with its head stuck inside a can. The can was removed and the cat, reportedly appearing “fine and thankful,” ran off.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 6:25 p.m. Saturday, May 30, in the 2200 block of Basin Street S.W. Police were told that a female subject had bitten a male acquaintance on the hand during an argument. When taken into custody, the woman allegedly spit at two officers and tried to scratch one on the forearm. Sayda Y. Villatoro Castro, 27, Ephrata, was booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault and multiple counts of third-degree assault of a law enforcement officer.
At 2:22 p.m. Saturday, May 30, a disturbance was reported at the state Sunrise Community rehabilitation facility in the 1400 block of East Division Avenue. Police were told that a juvenile and an 18-year-old resident had been involved in a fight and both needed to leave the facility. Jayden L. Price, 18, Ephrata, was taken into custody and booked into the county jail.
While on patrol at 12:38 p.m. Saturday, May 30, an officer observed a wanted subject in a vehicle in the 300 block of Sixth Avenue S.E. Kolby Kenneth Burck, 32, Ephrata, was taken into custody on outstanding court warrant and booked into jail.
A malicious mischief incident was reported at 2:27 p.m. Friday, May 29, in the 700 block of Basin Street S.W. The complainant said a tire on his vehicle had been slashed while parked at his workplace. He identified a possible suspect and the incident was under investigation.
SOAP LAKE POLICE
A domestic disturbance was reported at 9:11 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, in the 600 block of Second Avenue N.E. An officer contacted a 47-year-old woman who said she and a male acquaintance argued over financial issues and the man allegedly threw her phone to the ground multiple times, damaging it. The woman said she chose to leave the residence and go to a hotel to spend the night.
A disturbance was reported at 11:15 a.m. Monday, June 1, in the 700 block of East Main Avenue. An officer contacted an adult couple and a juvenile who were yelling at one another while loading waste materials into a trailer. After some discussion, the three agreed to talk and listen to one another rather than yelling.
A fraud attempt was reported at 12:18 p.m. Friday, May 29, in the 200 block of South Daisy Street. The complainant said she received a phone call from an unknown number claiming her niece was in jail and $10,000 was needed to bail her out. The complainant did not send any money, but wanted police to be aware of the incident.
At 11:35 a.m. Friday, May 29, an officer assisted Grant County sheriff’s deputies in responding to a domestic disturbance in the 17900 block of Road A-NW. A female suspect was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault for allegedly hitting a male acquaintance and taking his personal possessions.
Nichole Anderson, 33, Moses Lake, was cited for driving with a suspended license and expired vehicle registration following a traffic stop at 1:54 a.m. Friday, May 29, near the intersection of State Route 28 West and South Division Street.
At 11:26 p.m. Thursday, May 28, an officer conducted a traffic stop after allegedly observing a vehicle operating without headlights or taillights near the intersection of State Route 28 East and South Daisy Street. Nicholas Von Grey, 22, Ephrata, was cited for driving with a suspended license. A Washington State Patrol trooper processed the driver for a possible DUI violation.
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF
On Wednesday, June 3, deputies located a male subject wanted on felony charges of second-degree rape of a child and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes. Hunter James Gray, 18, Moses Lake, was taken into custody on a superior court warrant and booked into the Grant County Jail.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 6:22 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, in the 4000 block of Road P-SW. Authorities said the male subject had a physical altercation with a female family member. Miguel Angel Quintanilla, 42, George, was booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
While on patrol at 9:11 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, a deputy clocked a Chevrolet Corvette traveling at 146 mph in a 50-mph zone east of Moses Lake near the intersection of Wheeler Road and Second Street NE. Nathanial Michael Morris, 26, Warden, was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving and booked into jail.
An assault was reported at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, in the 21000 block of Road 24.7-SW. Authorities were told a male subject hit and choked a family member in a rent dispute. Mario Ponce Cruz, 42, Mattawa was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree assault (domestic violence).
At 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, authorities were notified of a sexual assault that allegedly occurred overnight involving a male suspect and female victim at an unspecified location. Miguel Ramirez Lopez, 53, George, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree rape.
A disturbance was reported at 2:33 p.m. Monday, June 1, in the 4100 block of Orchard Drive NE near Moses Lake. The complainant said an intoxicated female acquaintance was refusing to leave the premises and asked deputies to trespass her from the property. Deputies determined the complainant, 21-year-old Nicolas Brandon Cesario of Moses Lake, was wanted on an outstanding court warrant and he was taken into custody. The female subject was given a courtesy ride from the location, but allegedly damaged upholstery while in the patrol car. Noemi Zulema Ramirez, 33, Moses Lake, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree malicious mischief. Both were booked into the county jail.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 1:58 p.m. Sunday, May 31, in the 4200 block of Moon Drive NE. Authorities were told a male subject was being aggressive toward his parents. Eduardo Uribe, 20, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked into jail on two counts of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
A theft was reported at 1:25 p.m. Sunday, May 31, in the 1300 block of Pershing Road NE near Moses Lake. The complainant said a male family member had stolen a smart phone and two laptop computers around an hour earlier. Deputies later located the suspect, 40-year-old Antonio Cantu of Moses Lake, who was booked into jail on June 1 on suspicion of second-degree theft.
Authorities were notified at 5:49 a.m. Sunday, May 31, of a court order violation in the 100 block of Pelican Place NE near Moses Lake. The complainant said a male acquaintance had just telephoned her a few minutes despite a valid no-contact/protection order. Robert Anderson Stoe, 23, Moses Lake, was arrested for the violation and booked into jail.
A report of threats was received at 9:41 p.m. Saturday, May 30, in the 9300 block of Adams Road NW. The complainant said a male family member had threatened to harm him with an axe. Jacob William DeLeeuw, 28, Quincy, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of felony harassment/threats to kill.
A traffic accident was reported at 8:38 p.m. Saturday, May 30, in the vicinity of State Route 283 and Road 26-SW. Authorities were told that male subject was climbing out of a vehicle which had just gone into a small irrigation canal. Deputies contacted the driver, 51-year-old Jose Cantor Quirino of Mattawa, who was taken into custody and booked into jail on outstanding superior and district court warrants.
At 12:02 p.m. Saturday, May 30, authorities were told that a man was hitting a woman during an argument in the 24000 block of Road T.6-SW. Juan Carlos De La Trinidad, 18, Mattawa, was booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), unlawful imprisonment, and interfering with reporting of domestic violence.
Following a traffic stop at 2:55 a.m. Saturday, May 30, near the intersection of State Route 281 and Road 1-NW, Samuel Alejandro Gonzalez, 22, Quincy, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.
Following a traffic stop at 11:04 p.m. Friday, May 29, in the 1000 block of State Route 283, Rubi Jazmin Rodriguez, 29, Ephrata, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Authorities were notified at 4:27 p.m. Friday, May 29, that a motorist in a white Honda car was seen stealing mail from mailboxes in the 17700 block of Frenchman Hills Road West. The suspect allegedly fled from a pursuing deputy, drove into an orchard where the vehicle became disabled, and was found hiding nearby. Leobardo Ramos Delgado, 26, George, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of possession of stolen mail, attempting to elude a police vehicle, hit-and-run (unattended property damage), and an out-of-county warrant.
A physical disturbance was reported at 11:35 a.m. Friday, May 29, in the 17900 block of Road A-NW. Authorities were told that a female subject was screaming and yelling after allegedly hitting a male acquaintance and taking his possessions at a location in the Wagon Wheel Trailer Park. Deputies and Soap Lake police responded and arrested Nicole Ann Shenefelt, 28, Ephrata, on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence). She was booked into jail.
A theft and trespassing incident was reported at 5:49 p.m. last Wednesday, May 27, in the 4300 block of Jackie Drive NE near Moses Lake. The complainant said a male acquaintance had stolen possessions a day earlier. Jose Luis Vega, 39, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespass, second-degree theft, and second-degree possession of stolen property.
