The Ephrata police and fire departments escorted the cross country teams out of town Saturday morning, the community’s tradition for sending athletes to state. Both squads qualified Oct. 31 at the District 5 and 6 2A Championships at Apple Ridge in Yakima, the girls placing second and the boys third, sending 14 Tigers to Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco. Results from Saturday’s races will be posted on GCJ's sports ticker tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 6).
