Grant County Historical Museum opens for 2026
Living Museum, Pioneer Day, Old Time Political Rally among special events
EPHRATA — The Grant County Historical Museum opens Saturday, May 23, for its 2026 season.
Pioneer life, local culture, and regional history are showcased in the museum’s 38 buildings and displays, plus large archives of photographs and paper documents are available for research.
The museum, situated on 3.5 acres, is located at 742 Basin St. N.W. It is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free for children ages 4 and younger. Guided tours are available.
In celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary, the museum will host a trio of special events with free admission. The annual Living Museum is planned Saturday, June 13; Pioneer Day is scheduled Saturday, Sept. 12 — the last day of the season. Both feature volunteers dressed in period costumes who bring the early days of Grant County to life with wood branding, saloon drinks, outlaw shootouts, and more.
In between, the museum will sponsor an Old Time Political Rally on Wednesday, July 22 featuring local primary election candidates.
