The 2026 Grant County Fair: there's something for everyone

MOSES LAKE — Grant County's annual summer celebration wraps up its five-day run on Saturday after welcoming crowds from across central Washington this week at the fairgrounds near Moses Lake.

Here's a gallery of photos that show just a small portion of activities and faces that make the fair — and the Moses Lake Roundup rodeo next door — a family friendly, fun-filled destination.

The animal barns attracted crowds and displayed red, white, and blue decorations in style with this year’s fair theme, “Ribbons, Rides & American Pride.”
And the beat goes on. Roving performers included the Boom Hype Crew (above) who energized the fairgrounds with their rhythmic percussion. Among the featured musical acts was a local group, Skull Buckle (below), performing on the Caroline Fisher Stage.
In the Arts and Crafts Building, a couple (above) checked out the diversely talented entries on display. Below, artist Ambrosia Williams of Moses Lake paused briefly in her painting, a depiction of the Virgin Mary that she started a few days before the fair opened and hoped to have finished by this Saturday.
The Ephrata Lions Club food booth (above) was open for business, one of the many vendors serving up tasty treats at the fair. Despite the heat, burger chef Mike Warren (below) looked cool and calm cooking in the kitchen.
Kids were delighted by the soapy floating magic spun up by "The Bubbler." Below, 10-year-old Ily Allen of Moses Lake stood patiently as The Bubbler decorated her head with a foamy chapeau.
The carnival was in town: the ferris wheel — and more — awaited riders.
Who's watching who? A curious goat and a baleful bantam kept their eyes on human visitors in the animal barns.
A large crowd was on hand for the 4-H/FFA/Grange dairy heifer and market livestock sales Friday morning in the Ardell Pavilion. Among the livestock sale entrants was 17-year-old Lila Sackmann (below), an FFA member from Wilson Creek, with her steer, Bandit, who weighed in at a hefty 1,301 pounds.

Next door, there was weeklong action at the Moses Lake Roundup arena, including demolition derby mayhem and a PRCA-sanctioned rodeo that attracted some of the nation's best cowboys and cowgirls.

PRCA cowboy Jace Melvin caught some air during his bulldogging attempt in Friday morning's "slack" round.
Jace Mayfield was among the Roundup’s leading steer wrestlers, downing his animal in 4.1 seconds.
Miss Rodeo Washington Ava LaValley of Ellensburg (left) and Miss Moses Lake Roundup Kaylee Stump of Ephrata helped in the arena during Friday's slack session, which featured steer wrestling, team roping, and barrel racing.

It's not too late to take in the sights: the fair and rodeo continue through this evening (Saturday, Aug. 22), so pull on your boots and git goin'.
