The following law enforcement reports were posted Friday, Jan. 16, 2026:

ONE DEAD, ONE INJURED IN WRECK

GEORGE – Emergency personnel and Grant County sheriff’s deputies responded to a one-vehicle wreck reported at 10:40 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, in the 11900 block of Frenchman Hills Road SW, about 10 miles south of George.

According to the sheriff’s office, David Trinidad, 22, Othello, was driving east at a high rate of speed when he lost control of a 2015 Ford Mustang which left the roadway and crashed, coming to rest near an irrigation pond and tree.

Trinidad sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, 22-year-old Melany Campos of Othello, received unspecified injuries and was airlifted to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.

The incident is under investigation by the Grant County Sheriff’s Motor Traffic Unit.

GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF

A domestic disturbance was reported at 12:32 a.m. today, Friday, Jan. 16, in the 1500 block of Road 2-NW, about 15 miles south of Ephrata. The reporting party said an estranged roommate was harassing and threatening him. Stacy Lee Noyes, 52, Moses Lake was arrested on suspicion of violation of a court protection order and booked into the Grant County Jail.

A burglary was reported at 11:46 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, in the 2100 block of Road O-NE, about three miles east of Moses Lake. The reporting party said a storage container had been broken into and tools and construction equipment valued at $25,000 had been stolen. No suspects were immediately identified.

A domestic disturbance was reported at 11:36 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, in the 5500 block of North Frontage Road West near George. A 44-year-old woman told authorities that an estranged male partner had come to the residence and an argument ensued. The man allegedly struck a pet dog with a metal rod, then choked, punched, and threw a phone at the woman before driving away. Deputies located the suspect shortly after noon in the vicinity of Winchester Lake. Matthew McNamara, 43, Moses Lake, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault (domestic violence) and interfering with reporting of domestic violence. He was booked into the county jail.

Following a traffic stop Wednesday evening at the Jackpot Food Mart in Quincy, the Grant County Sheriff’s Crime Reduction Team arrested 29-year-old Ivan G. Gonzalez Vidales on suspicion of second-degree theft and second-degree trafficking in stolen property. He was booked into the Grant County Jail and released the following day. According to the sheriff’s office, Vidales is one of multiple suspect in an investigation which began in early January into the unauthorized use of fuel cards from a Quincy-area agronomics business. Nearly $250,000 worth of fuel has been fraudulently purchased, and more arrests are expected, according to the sheriff’s office. Detectives from the Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team are also involved in the investigation.

A domestic disturbance was reported at 8:01 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, in the 7500 block of MacBeth Lane NE near Moses Lake. Authorities were told that a 14-year-old boy displayed a screwdriver while being disciplined by his father. No one was injured in the incident and the boy was taken into custody on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence) and transported to the Chelan County Juvenile Center in Wenatchee.

A domestic disturbance was reported at 12:15 a.m. last Saturday, Jan. 10, in the 100 block of Schilling Drive NE near Moses Lake. Authorities were told that a physical altercation occurred after a male subject, described as intoxicated, slammed a door when returning home and allegedly punched a roommate in the face during an ensuing argument. Michael David Siers, 26, Moses Lake, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and booked into the county jail.

A disturbance was reported at 5:37 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, in the 8600 block of Lybbert Drive NE near Moses Lake. The complainant said a male subject was possibly under the influence of drugs and behaving in a manner that frightened other family members who locked themselves in their rooms. Deputies arrested Augustin Rosas Lozano, 27, Moses Lake, for violation of a court protection ordeer and an outstanding district court warrant. Lozano was booked into the Grant County Jail.

A burglary was reported on Friday, Jan. 9, in the 36000 block of Road I.8-NE near Coulee City. Authorities were told that surveillance video showed two male subjects cutting the perimeter fence and entering property owned by the Grant County PUD around 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6. The suspects, who were not immediately identified, took an undetermined amount of electrical cable. The incident was under investigation.

A domestic disturbance was reported at 3:01 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, near the intersection of Roads 5-NE and E-NE. Deputies were told a male subject had slapped a pregnant female acquaintance a few days earlier, then threatened the 29-year-old woman with a handgun and fired several shots through a trailer wall earlier on Jan. 8. Deputies took 30-year-old Daniel Natividad Gazca of Moses Lake into custody, and determined he was prohibited from possessing a firearm after being convicted in 2014 of first-degree robbery and possession of heroin. Gazca was arrested on suspicion of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and second- and fourth degree (domestic violence). He was booked into the county jail.

WASHINGTON STATE PATROL

At 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, a trooper observed a motorist traveling 63 mph in a 50-mph speed zone on State Route 17 near Grape Drive in Moses Lake. During a traffic stop, the trooper alleged that he saw the vehicle’s interior ignition switch had been “punched” from the dash and replaced with an improvised switch hanging between the driver’s legs. When questioned about ownership, the driver – identified as 26-year-old Jonathan Thomas Pray of Soap Lake – said he had purchased the vehicle from a man named Hector, but he did not have a title or bill of sale. Following a records check, the trooper determined the vehicle had been reported stolen in October from a Moses Lake resident. Pray was taken into custody and booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license. A female passenger, 38-year-old Erma S. Snider, no town listed, was also detained on an outstanding district court warrant, the report stated.

SOAP LAKE POLICE

A public service request was received at 6:33 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at a residence on North Evergree Street. An officer was asked to check on the welfare of a female subject who was experiencing a panic attack. Emergency medical personnel also responded to the location and provided assistance. 

A traffic complaint was received at 4:47 p.m. Wednesday on South Ginkgo Street near the Soap Lake Elementary School. Police were told that a male subject was riding a unicycle in a fast manner on a pedestrian walking path near the school. An officer contacted the cyclist, who was asked to “slow it down” and yield to pedestrians. The man advised he did not go fast when other people were around and said he will avoid the reporting party.

At 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, police were notified that a female subject had been behaving in an erratic manner, yelling and threatening to burn property, between 2 and 3 a.m. at a trailer park in the 400 block of South Division Avenue. Responding to the location, an officer allegedly found burnt paper and black ash on a slab a few feet away from the wood skirting of one of a occupied trailers. The suspect, identified as 48-year-old Lisa Ann Valdez of Soap Lake, was later located around 6:45 p.m. When questioned, Valdez told an officer that she attempted to start a fire to get warm, and expressed concern about hearing her family’s “voices” talking to her and telling her “to do things.” Valdez was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree arson and booked into the Grant County Jail. 

A disturbance was reported at 5:59 p.m. last Saturday, Jan. 10, in the 500 block of South Aster Street. Police were told that a male subject was refusing to leave the premises. It was determined that one individual was wanted on an outstanding state Department of Corrections detention warrant. Adrian Antonio Diaz, 30, Soap Lake, was taken into custody and booked into the county jail. 

A theft was reported at 11:33 a.m. last Thursday, Jan. 8, in the 200 block of West Main Avenue. The complainant said a floodlight-equipped security camera valued at $120 had been stolen from her residence. She advised she would review other security cameras to determine when the device had been taken and whether a suspect could be identified.

The following individuals were cited for driving with suspended licenses or other violations during traffic stops over the past week: Leonard Knigge, 61, Soap Lake; Austin Arizmendi, 24, Ephrata; Tara McDowell, 35, Royal City; Hailey Carpenter, 27, Soap Lake (driving with suspended registration).


The following law enforcement reports were posted Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026:

EPHRATA POLICE

A domestic disturbance was reported shortly before 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, in the first block of June’s Court. Police said a couple were arguing over “relationship issues” and the TV remote control unit when the male subject allegedly assaulted the partner. Jose Daniel Delarosa, 29, Ephrata, was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).

A domestic disturbance was reported at 4:39 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, in the first block of June’s Court. Police were told that a mother and juvenile son were arguing because the boy had not cleaned his room when asked. The women allegedly pointed a knife and a baseball bat at the boy, later telling police that she believed it was appropriate parenting because her son is big for his age and yelling. Gina Anne Cuevas, 42, Ephrata, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful display of a weapon and booked into the county jail.

At 11:22 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, police were advised of a potentially impaired driver in the 100 block of A Street S.E. Officers located the suspect vehicle and arrested Alejandro Hernandez Merino, 33, Ephrata, on suspicion of driving under the influence and three outstanding district court warrants. Merino was booked into the county jail.

A domestic disturbance was reported at 5:41 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, in the 1400 block of C Street S.W. Police were told that a juvenile boy had punched two holes in the bedroom wall of his home. The boy was later located in Soap Lake around 10:15 p.m, taken into custody on suspicion of third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence), and transferred to the Chelan County Juvenile Detention Center.

SOAP LAKE POLICE

A fraud report was received at 12:02 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, from a 68-year-old resident in the first block of South Gingko Street. The woman told police she had received a phone call from person identifying themself as a U.S. government employee who needed her Social Security number, bank account number, and state license plate number. The woman said she provided the information, then realized afterward that “it was bad.” In addition to notifying police, the woman said she also called her bank and Social Security regarding the incident.

While in Ephrata on Monday, Jan. 5, a Soap Lake officer initiated a traffic stop at 1:09 a.m near the intersection of Basin Street and Fourth Avenue S.W. After allegedly consenting to field sobriety and breathalyzer tests, the female driver, identified as 42-year-old Amber Cobb of Soap Lake, was cited on suspicion of driving under the influence and transported to her residence.

A burglary and theft were reported at 10:41 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, in the 700 block of East Main Avenue. An officer talked to the 71-year-old property owner who said his locked home and shed had been broken into. No suspects were immediately identified. The man was provided a reporting form to list the stolen items and photos were taken of the broken locks and home interior.

A request for agency assistance was received at 12:56 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, from Grant County Fire District No. 7, which was on scene with a “combative patient” needing a medical transport to Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata. An officer agreed to transport the patient’s service animal to the hospital, where it was reunited with its owner.

A report of threats was received at 11:17 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27 at a location on Road 20.5-NE. Police were told that a male subject was informed by his brother that some acquaintances were planning to kill him. An officer spoke to the threatened person, who said he did not want to pursue charges or have police contact the alleged suspect. He was provided with a courtesy ride to a friend’s residence.

A sexual assault was reported at 7:38 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27. Police were told that a 13-year-old Soap Lake girl had been victimized by a 33-year-old male at an unspecified location in Ephrata. An officer talked to the reporting party and the juvenile’s mother. The incident is under investigation and a report was filed with state Child Protective Services.

The following persons were cited for driving with a suspended license following traffic stops dating back to Dec. 25, 2025: Anthony Cheromiah, 24, Soap Lake; Jessie Rodriguez, 36, Soap Lake; Irma Serrano Mendoza, 25, SeaTac; Korey Lydon, 36, Wilsail, Montana; James Ghent, 34, Soap Lake; Dean Bennett, 59, Soap Lake. 

GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF

At 4 p.m. Tuesday, authorities were notified that a male subject accused of harassment in a prior incident was observed at a residence in the 8200 block of Lybbert Drive NE near Moses Lake. The man, identified as 33-year-old Brandon Lee Holman, was accused of violating a court protection order on Dec. 12 by involving an intermediary to send threatening messages to a 38-year-old Othello-area woman. Holman was arrested on suspicion of felony harassment and violations of the protection order. He was booked into the Grant County Jail.

A burglary was reported at 10:33 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities were notified that a male subject had been observed inside the fenced perimeter of a Grant County PUD substation located on Wenatchee Drive NE in Moses Lake on Jan. 3. Deputies identified the suspect as 50-year-old Jeffrey Lynn Hughes of Moses Lake, who was located and booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree burglary and outstanding district court warrants.

A domestic disturbance was reported at 10 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Statter Road in Ephrata. The reporting person told authorities that a male family member had yelled and cornered her during an argument. Deputies contacted the woman and concluded that she had physically assaulted the male subject. Tessa Marie (Wright) Marseilles, 37, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and booked into the county jail.

A theft was reported at 12:13 p.m. Monday in the 7100 block of Dune Lake Road SE near Moses Lake. The complainant said $2,600 in cash had been stolen overnight from a vehicle parked at the residence. The complainant said the vehicle was locked, but said access was gained through a back hatch that was found partially open in the morning.

A theft was reported at 11:02 a.m. Monday in the 17900 block of Road A-NW. The complainant said her 2010 Mercury Milan sedan had been stolen at some unknown time from her residence at the Wagon Wheel Trailer Park. No suspects were immediately identifed. 

At 3:09 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, deputies were notified of a collision involving a vehicle traveling on Interstate 90 that left the highway and crashed into a fence in the 18500 block of North Frontage Road West. No injuries were reported, but the driver, identified as 37-year-old Juan Jose Arcos Lopez of George, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. He was booked into the county jail.

A harassment incident was reportred at 11:53 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, in the 13300 block of Road A.5-NW near Ephrata. A 34-year-old woman told authorities she was confronted by her landlord, who allegedly yelled at her and threatened to ram his truck into her son’s trailer.  A responding deputy attempted to contact the landlord, knocking on his door multiple times, but no one answered.

A domestic disturbance was reported at 3:06 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, in the 3800 block of Road 9-NW south of Ephrata. The 34-year-old complainant said her father had slapped her 13-year-old daughter in the head. A deputy talked to the involved individuals, who have separate dwellings on shared property, and was told the adult male had entered a trailer to retrieve his mail and was told to leave by the  13-year-old girl. In response, the man said he tapped his granddaughter – who had no apparent marks – on the head with the mail. The deputy advised that the dispute was likely a civil issue and the involved persons should give one another notice before entering their separate dwellings.

A disturbance was reported at 2 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 1, in the vicinity of Roads 7-NE and K-NE, near the Columbia Basin Fish Hatchery at Moses Lake. The complainant told dispatchers that he had been drinking at an aunt’s residence and wanted to retrieve his beer pong table, but the aunt did not want him driving so she blocked the driveway and disconnected the battery to his truck. The complainant then called a friend to drive his vehicle to retrieve the beer pong table. Deputies determined no crime had occurred and no arrests were made.
