EPHRATA POLICE
A one-vehicle, non-injury collision was reported at 12:59 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, in the 1000 block of Basin Street S.W. A 76-year-old Soap Lake woman was exiting a parking space and confused the accelerator with the brake pedal, causing her 2015 Buick Enclave to strike a building. The car was towed from the scene; the building sustained reportable damage.
A theft was reported at 8:23 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the 100 block of Ivy Street S.E. Police were told that a BMX-style Mongoose fat-tire bicycle had been stolen from a resident’s front yard. No suspects were identified.
At 2:13 p.m. Wednesday, police were notified that a male subject was inside the Ephrata Walmart store after previously being banned from the property. Matthew Aaron Schlehuber, 45, Ephrata, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespass and booked into the Grant County Jail.
An assault was reported at 9:02 a.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of K Street N.E. The complainant said she was waiting for a bus when she was punched in the back by a juvenile. She asked officers to document the incident, saying there had been similar prior incidents.
A weapons violation was reported at 2:02 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, in the first block of Linda Ridge Loop. Officers contacted a 16-year-old Ephrata boy who had been posting online photos of himself displaying a handgun. The teen was taken into custody for unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful carrying or handling of a weapon.
A traffic hazard was reported at 3:58 a.m. Tuesday on Third Avenue S.E. The cap of a fire hydrant had been removed, allowing water to spray across the road and create “a large lake.” Ephrata fire department personnel responded to close the hydrant and public works staff temporarily closed the street to through traffic.
An unwanted person was reported at 7:32 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, in the 1300 block of Nat Washington Way. Store personnel at the Ephrata Walmart said a female subject had come to the store on three occasions and threatened employees after her sister had been detained for alleged theft. Police contacted the woman by phone and said she was trespassed from the Walmart property.
SOAP LAKE POLICE
A municipal animal violation was reported at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the vicinity of Ash Street and Second Avenue S.E. The complainant said a resident in the area was feeding multiple stray cats, which were attracted into neighboring yards where they were breeding and spraying property. The complainant said she had to use her own resources to remove multiple litters of kittens.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the first block of North Fir Street. An officer separately contacted a man and woman who had been arguing in a dispute over the care and feeding of their son.
A court order violation was reported at 4:37 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, by a 33-year-old woman who said she had received an online message from a person in violation of a court no-contact order. The order was confirmed and the incident was under investigation.
Michael Wenz, 46, Ephrata, was cited for no valid operator’s license and expired vehicle registration following a traffic stop at 1:22 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, near the intersection of Aster Street and Sixth Avenue S.E.
A report of suspicious activity was received at 4:35 p.m. last Friday, Sept. 18, in a field west of South Division Street behind the Soap Lake Gardens apartments. Police were advised that an outdoor fire was possibly started by two juveniles seen running toward the nearby apartment complex. The fire was extinguished and an investigation was underway about possible reckless burning.
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF
Incident locations, towns of residence, and narratives were not immediately available from the sheriff’s office for four individuals booked into the Grant County Jail early today (Sept. 25) and Thursday, Sept. 24, on separate, unrelated offenses. Those individuals and their alleged criminal charges were: Gonzalo Reyes, 70, harassment/threats to kill; Darla Jo Stocker, 63, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence); Scott Lynn Nowlin, 62, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence); and Eulises Garibay, 27, physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and an outstanding district court warrant.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 7:54 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the 2800 block of Road 11.3-NW, south of Ephrata. Authorities were told a male subject was arguing with a female family member and allegedly dragged her to the ground, then hit and choked her. Rolando Valdez, 29, Ephrata, was arrested by deputies and booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree assault (domestic violence). Ephrata police assisted at the scene.
A two-vehicle collision was reported at 6:58 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Road 11-SW and Adams Road SW, about seven miles northwest of Royal City. Deputies said Giovanni Beltran, 29, George, was driving south on Adams Road and attempted a left turn onto Road 11 when his 2015 Toyota sedan collided with a northbound 2008 Cadillac Escalade driven by Moises Pachevo-Cruz, 51, no town listed. According to the report, both drivers appeared to sustain minor injuries and were transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for medical evaluations. Beltran was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way, and no proof of vehicle liability insurance. The two vehicles were towed from the scene.
A report of suspicious circumstances was received at 5:57 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of North Stratford Road in Moses Lake. Authorities were told a female driver appeared to be passed out in a vehicle in the drive-thru lane at a McDonald’s restaurant. Karlianne Senn, 45, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
A disturbance was reported at 3:06 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, in the 9000 block of Bong Loop NE in the Larson housing area near Moses Lake. Authorities were told a male subject displayed a sword and threatened two older family members. Deputies said the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Cavin Owen Searles of Moses Lake, appeared to be distraught and under the influence of drugs. The sword was confiscated and Searles was booked into jail on two counts of felony harassment/threats to kill.
Authorities received a report at 2:43 p.m. Tuesday from a woman who alleged her children were being abused by a male family member living in the 5000 block of Road I-NW near Ephrata. The report was under investigation.
A theft was reported at 12:03 p.m. Tuesday in the 14500 block of Baseline.5 Road SE, about five miles southeast of Moses Lake. The complainant said a handgun was stolen overnight from her unlocked vehicle. No suspects were immediately identified.
At 11:05 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, deputies located a wanted subject in the 4300 block of Roberts Place NE near Moses Lake. Michael Birrueta, 38, Moses Lake, was taken into custody on outstanding court warrants and booked into jail.

EPHRATA POLICE
A domestic disturbance was reported at 10:07 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, in the 300 block of E Street N.E. The complainant said a former male partner had come to her apartment in violation of a court no-contact order, assaulted her, stole a bottle of vodka, then fled on foot. The 23-year-old woman said she punched the man in the face before managing to lock herself inside the bathroom. About 90 minutes later, a woman notified police that a male with a bruised face approached her vehicle on North Basin Street and asked for a ride because “the cops were looking for him.” She refused. Grant County sheriff’s deputies and Soap Lake police assisted in a search for the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Gadge E. Reeves of Quincy, who was located around 3 p.m. in the 600 block of E Street N.E. Reeves was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), violation of a court no-contact/protection order, harassment (domestic violence), interfering with reporting of domestic violence, resisting arrest, and an outstanding district court warrant.
A theft was reported at 12:55 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, in the 300 block of Basin Street S.W. Police were told a male subject shoplifted merchandise from the Ephrata Safeway store and drove away in a black Chrysler 300 sedan.
A disturbance was reported at 7:36 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in the 200 block of Nat Washington Way. Police were told that a male subject was yelling and threatening staff at Columbia Basin Hospital. Officers contacted the man, who calmed down and said he was hearing voices and having suicidal thoughts. The man admitted he needed help and agreed to get treatment.
A trespassing incident was reported at 3:25 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in the 2200 block of Basin Street S.W. The complainant advised that a female subject was at the location in violation of a court protection/no-contact order. Sayda Villatoro-Castro, 27, Quincy, was taken into custody for the violation and booked into the Grant County Jail.
A two-vehicle, non-injury collision was reported at 3:01 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the intersection of H Street and First Avenue S.E. Police said two drivers entered the intersection at virtually the same time: Daniel Ambriz Hernandez, 44, Ephrata, was driving a 2008 Honda Accord which struck a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek driven by Jason Demello, 40, of Dartmouth, Maine.
Following a traffic stop at 7:34 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the 300 block of First Avenue N.W., Charles Cole, 23, Ephrata, was cited for driving with a suspended license.
A theft was reported at 11:26 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, in the 2500 block of Basin Street S.W. Police were told a wood splitter and bundler had been stolen from Oasis Park sometime between Sept. 4 and the reporting date.
A behavioral disturbance was reported at 2:12 p.m. last Monday, Sept. 14, in the 200 block of Nat Washington Way. A woman said she was transporting her 25-year-old son to Columbia Basin Hospital for a mental-health assessment when he tried to jump out of the vehicle while it was moving. The man left on foot and reportedly made statements about having police shoot him. As a precaution, police advised nearby Ephrata Middle School to go into lockdown. Officers located the man and transported him to the hospital for an involuntary evaluation.
A two-vehicle collision was reported at 7:06 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14 in the 400 block of Patrick Road. Police were advised that Justin C. Manson, 25, Ephrata, was driving a 1990 Honda Accord which struck a parked unoccupied 2017 Toyota Tundra pickup. Both vehicles received reportable damage and the Honda was towed from the scene. A Washington State Patrol trooper responded to the location to assess Manson for possible impairment.
A report of harassment was received at 3:25 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14 in the first block of Linda Ridge Loop. A woman told police that a juvenile subject wanted to fight her son and threatened to get a firearm. The juvenile fled on foot, but officers later located him and determined he was not armed. The juvenile said he wanted to fight because the other boy threatened him with a knife on Saturday. Police said it was part of an ongoing dispute within the neighborhood. The involved parties were advised on how to seek court no-contact orders.
While on patrol at 4:26 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, an officer observed a wanted subject in the 300 block of Basin Street S.W. Todd Shane Homer, 40, Moses Lake, was taken into custody for two outstanding district court warrants and booked into the county jail.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 10:23 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13 in the 700 block of Third Avenue N.E. The complainant said her son forced his way into an apartment by throwing a brick through a window. The male subject was initially detained but later released after learning it was his place of residence.
A theft was reported at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, in the 200 block of Basin Street N.W. The complainant said her wallet containing her bank card and identification cards for her children had been stolen from her unlocked vehicle.
MOSES LAKE POLICE
At 12:11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, officers responded to a report of a trailer fire at a mobile home park in the 2300 block of West Marina Drive. Officers contacted a female subject, accompanied by a young daughter, who allegedly admitted being upset over domestic issues and used gasoline from her car to set the trailer on fire. Kristin Marie Stepper, 37, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of first-degree arson, reckless endangerment, and criminal mistreatment.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 11:54 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, in the 200 block of East Ninth Avenue. The complainant said her brother, who appeared intoxicated, arrived about 90 minutes earlier at their apartment which they also shared with the suspect’s girlfriend and their two young children. The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Manuel Olivarez of Moses Lake, allegedly grabbed his sister by the throat during an argument, hit her on the head, and took her phone to prevent her from calling police. She fled to a neighbor’s home for help. Responding officers arrested Olivarez for second- and fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), second-degree robbery (domestic violence), and unlawful imprisonment (domestic violence). He was booked into the county jail.
SOAP LAKE POLICE
A disturbance was reported at 4:22 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, in the 500 block of West Main Avenue. The complainant said there had been yelling coming from a residence since 4 a.m. An officer responded to the residence, heard yelling inside, and contacted three occupants who were advised to stop yelling.
A report of harassment was received at 7:20 p.m. last Monday, Sept. 14, in the first block of North Evergreen Street. An officer contacted the complainant who alleged his neighbors were talking about him from their yard. When further questioned, the man admitted he had never spoken with his neighbors face-to-face and did not know who they were. The officer took no further action and cleared.
A report of an unwanted person was received at 4:37 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at a residence on South Daisy Street. The woman told an officer that her former partner was getting released from prison after eight years of incarceration and she did not want him returning there. She was advised to seek a court restraining order.
At 1:41 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, an officer conducted a welfare check with a man observed lying in a van parked in a lot at the intersection of Daisy Street and First Avenue S.E. The man admitted he could no longer care for himself and needed assistance. He was transported by emergency medical personnel to Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata, and police notified Adult Protective Services of the incident.
A theft was reported at 1:33 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, in the first block of South Division Street. The complainant said a security camera valued at $120 had been stolen from the building. No suspects were identified.
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF
A robbery attempt was reported at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, at the Big Wally’s Convenience Store along State Route 17 North at Coulee City. Authorities were told a male subject tried to assault an employee while stealing a container of milk and a meat stick from the store. Deputies located the suspect at his Coulee City home. Donald Edward Compton, 47, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery and booked into the Grant County Jail.
Following a traffic stop at 9:29 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at the intersection of State Route 17 North and East Broadway Avenue at Moses Lake, Santiago Valdovinos, 23, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 10:37 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, in the the 6900 block of Road U-SE at Warden. Authorities were told a male subject tried to enter a home through a locked door and damaged the residence. Deputies later located the suspect, identified as Oscar Maltos Garcia, 40, Warden, who was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass (domestic violence) and third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence).
Authorities were notifed at 10:08 p.m. Friday that a female subject had been an accessory to a domestic assault. Deputies located the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Ashley Wilkins of Moses Lake, at a location in the 8900 block of Craw Lane NE. She was taken into custody and booked into jail.
A report of weapons was received at 9:37 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the intersection of Roads 9-NW and V-NW near Quincy. The complainant said they were in a vehicle being chased by unknown suspects armed with guns and knives. Deputies were not able to locate the alleged assailants.
A disturbance was reported at 11:22 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in the 1800 block of West Crouse Street near Moses Lake. The complainant said a male subject stole money from her car and when an argument ensued, the man allegedly made threats and took her phone. Deputies responded and arrested Owen Howard White, 49, Moses Lake, on suspicion of third-degree theft and harassment/threats to kill. He was booked into the Grant County Jail.
A vehicle collision involving livestock was reported at 9:24 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the intersection of Roads U-SE and 2-SE near Warden. Authorities were told that a motorist struck a bull in the roadway. The driver was uninjured but the bull and the car were both totaled.
A report of an impaired driver was received at 9:33 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the 400 block of South Wanapum Drive near Beverly. Staff at a convenience store said a male customer appeared to be under the influence of drugs and departed in a vehicle. Deputies located the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Brennan Patrick Woods, listed as transient, who was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and two outstanding district court warrants. He was booked into the county jail.
Following a traffic stop at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, near the intersection of East Third Avenue and South Balsam Street in Moses Lake, Samuel Mendez Cantu, 43, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked into jail for driving with a suspended license, alcohol-ignition interlock violation, and failure to transfer vehicle title within 45 days.
Following a traffic stop at 9:26 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, near the intersection of Road 1-NW and Beverly-Burke Road NW, Rodolfo Ruiz Mejia, 34, Quincy, was arrested for driving with a suspended license, altered trip permit registration, and outstanding district court warrants. After being handcuffed, Mejia fled on foot but was located by a K-9 dog and taken into custody on an additional charge of third-degree escape. A companion, 23-year-old Melody Rosas Gonzalez of Quincy, was also arrested on outstanding court warrants. Both were booked into jail.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 9:32 p.m. last Saturday, Sept. 12, at an unspecified location. The complainant said she was bleeding after being hit by a male subject. Dillon Lazeke Liddle, 24, no town listed, was arrested and booked on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.
Following an undercover drug operation involving officers from the Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team, Mike Ambroise, 34, no town listed, was arrested at 5:58 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, and booked on seven counts of possession, manufacturing or distribution of a controlled substance.
A domestic assault was reported at 2:27 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at an unspecified location. Authorities were told that a male subject was observed beating a female acquaintance. Chad West Faircloth, 37, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
A one-car fatality vehicle accident which apparently occurred the prior evening was discovered and reported at 9:56 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, on Road 5-SW southwest of George. Deputies said Dana Steiner, 62, Othello, was driving east in a 2000 Nissan Altima, failed to stop at the intersection of Beverly-Burke Road and struck an irrigation canal embankment. Steiner, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said alcohol appeared to be a contributing factor in the wreck.
The following law enforcement reports were posted Friday, Sept. 11, 2026:
EPHRATA POLICE
A report of harassment was received at 4:03 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, in the 1000 block of Basin Street S.W. The complainant said she was followed to her vehicle by a male subject who yelled and harassed her, blocked her progress, and flashed a tattoo of a law enforcement badge. The man was not identified.
A theft was reported at 2:01 p.m. in the 1100 block of Basin Street S.W. Police were told that a female subject had left the Ephrata Safeway store around 1:30 p.m. after shoplifting groceries valued at $150. The woman was described as having red hair and wearing glasses and a black tank top.
A vehicle prowl was reported at 8:18 a.m. Thursday on 15th Avenue S.W. The complainant said his vehicle registration, a sweater, perfume, and a car starter had been stolen from his car. The report did not specify whether the vehicle was locked.
A theft was reported at 7:42 a.m. Thursday on Statter Road. The complainant said two steel fork extensions each measuring 8 feet in length were stolen about 45 minutes earlier. No suspects were immediately identified. The loss was estimated at $2,000.
A report of suspicious circumstances was received at 2:27 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, near the intersection of West Division Avenue and C Street N.W. The complainant said she was walking when an unidentified male subject driving a black Ford sedan tried waving her over to his car. She said the man, who appeared to be Hispanic and wearing a neon-yellow face covering, then followed her in his vehicle until she walked into the nearby Grant County Courthouse to call 911.
At 8:12 a.m. Wednesday, police arrested a male subject on an outstanding district court warrant. Matthew Shawn Walker, 36, Ephrata, was taken into custody at the police station and booked into the Grant County Jail.
On Monday, Sept. 7, police were contacted in the morning and again in the afternoon regarding a male subject walking around talking to himself and behaving erratically. Officers initially contacted the man in the first block of E Street N.E. and again in the first block of D Street S.E. In both instances, the man appeared to be having mental health episodes but refused to be seen by emergency medical personnel and was not considered to be a threat to himself or others.
A disturbance was reported at 9:31 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, in the first block of G Street N.E. Two males who had been drinking got into an altercation, police said. The incident was under investigation.
At 7:22 a.m. Sunday, police were notified that a male subject was looking through windows and saying “weird things” in the 400 block of East Division Avenue. Officers formally trespassed the man from one property, but he allegedly returned to the same location about a half-hour later. Patrick O’Donald Hanford, 49, Moses Lake, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespass and booked into the county jail.
A welfare check was requested at noon on Saturday, Sept. 5, in the vicinity of the 400 block of Hilltop Drive S.E. Police were told a male subject was rolling in the dirt on a path below a residence. Officers contacted the man, who said he was on a “spiritual journey and doing okay,” the report stated. The man was told to stay off private property.
Following a traffic stop at 9:35 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, in the 1300 block of Basin Street S.W., Princess Nunez, 22, Quincy, was cited for driving with a suspended license and expired vehicle license tabs.
A two-vehicle collision was reported at 6:09 p.m. last Friday at the intersection of Alder Street and First Avenue N.W. Jennifer A. Blankselee, 48, Davenport, was cited for following too close after her 2014 Honda CR-V collided with the back of a 2011 Ford Fusion driven by Dianne J. Paulson, 65, Seattle.
A two-vehicle collision was reported at 4 p.m. last Friday on Basin Street S.W. Police said Shelly G. Robideau, 73, Soap Lake, was southbound and attempted a left-hand turn when her 2019 Toyota Corolla struck the front end of a northbound 2012 Subaru Impreza driven by Jenevy Y. Cruz, 18, no town of residence listed. Robideau was cited for failure to yield.
SOAP LAKE POLICE
A welfare check was requested at 12:42 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the vicinity of Smokiam/East Beach Park. An officer contacted an adult female who said she was experiencing “episodes” and requested medical assistance. The woman and a child companion were transported to Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 7:57 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7, in the 300 block of First Avenue S.E. Police were told that a male subject had been involved in a physical altercation with an acquaintance. The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Arturo De Jesus Bravo Solano of Soap Lake, was later located and taken into custody by a Grant County sheriff’s deputy. Bravo Solano was booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
At 1:15 a.m. Monday, an officer observed a vehicle traveling without headlights turned on. Following a traffic stop near the intersection of Daisy Street and Fourth Avenue S.E., Melissa Daugherty, 49, Everett, was cited for a vehicle/child-restraint violation.
While on patrol at 10:04 p.m. last Friday, Sept. 4, an officer observed a vehicle with expired license tabs on State Route 28 West. Following a traffic stop, it was determined that the driver was wanted on an outstanding Grant County Superior Court felony warrant. Marina Ines Martinez, 43, Soap Lake, was taken into custody and booked into the county jail.
Following a traffic stop at 6:46 p.m. last Friday on Second Avenue S.E., Jeremy Hamm, 27, Marlin, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no proof of vehicle liability insurance.
While on patrol at 4:34 p.m. last Friday, an officer observed a male subject enter an unoccupied building in the 100 block of South Daisy Street after previously being trespassed from the property. The man was identified as a 45-year-old Soap Lake resident who faces a possible charge of criminal trespassing.
A burglary and theft were reported at 12:33 p.m. last Friday at Soap Lake High School. A school maintenance supervisor told police that a trailer containing tennis gear had been broken into at some point dating back to June. Entry was gained by prying off the trailer’s latch and lock. No suspects were immediately identified.
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF
A domestic disturbance was reported at 6:50 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at an unspecified location. The complainant said there was a physical altercation involving her husband. Deputies contacted the woman, identified as 39-year-old Shimalka Dineshi Bodaragama of Glendale, California, and concluded she was the primary aggressor. Bodaragama was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and booked into the Grant County Jail.
At 6:32 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, deputies assisted Moses Lake police in a vehicle pursuit that eventually ended near the intersection of Pioneer Way and East Hill Avenue. According to an MLPD report, a female motorist driving a 2012 Dodge Caravan was observed crossing all travel lanes and executing U-turns on several roadways. The woman was initially stopped at one point but refused to exit the van, then drove away again before being penned in by law enforcement vehicles near the Moses Lake Safeway store. The driver, identified as 41-year-old Jaspe Janna Rodriguez of Othello, allegedly later admitted to consuming cocaine and failing to stop because she had a suspended driver’s license and did not want to go to jail. But she did. After being medically cleared, Rodriguez was booked into the county jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving, felony eluding, and attempted third-degree assault of a law enforcement officer.
At 5:43 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy observed a suspected stolen vehicle within Moses Lake city limits. Following a traffic stop in the 1300 block of South Shaker Place, the deputy confirmed that the 2007 Honda Civic was stolen and detained the driver, identified as Fernando Lira, 36, Othello. When taken into custody, Lira was allegedly in possession of a brass-knuckle-styled knife and it was noted that the Honda’s interior and upholstery sustained damaged estimated at $1,500. Lira was booked into jail on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a dangerous weapon, and second-degree malicious mischief.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the 11000 block of Road D.4-SE near Royal City. Authorities were told that a female subject with mental health issues had pushed down a male family member who sustained minor head and torso injuries, then damaged the patrol vehicle of a Royal City police officer who also responded to the incident. Shakira Cortez, 20, Othello, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and malicious mischief.
Following a traffic stop at 9:26 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, near the intersection of Roads M-SE and 5-SE, south of Moses Lake, Brittnee Maree Richardson-Powell, 30, Othello, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, motor vehicle alcohol-ignition interlock violation, and reckless endangerment. She was booked into the county jail.
A disturbance was reported at 12:48 p.m. Monday in the 8000 block of Patton Boulevard NE near Moses Lake. A male subject told authorities that a female subject pulled a knife on him and took his cat. Responding to the call, deputies located the suspect along State Route 17, but backed off when she allegedly threatened to stab them. A K-9 dog was deployed to track the woman, identified as 21-year-old Hannah Lynn Gannon of Moses Lake. Gannon was eventually captured and booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree robbery, felony threats to kill, obstructing law enforcement officers, and intimidating a public servant.
Following a traffic stop at 6:26 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, in the 8000 block of Valley Road NE, Daniel Michael Hector, 27, Moses Lake, was taken into custody and booked into jail on an outstanding district court warrant.
An attempted home invasion was reported at 6:51 a.m. Sunday in the 9900 block of State Route 28 East. The complainant said a male subject attempted to enter a residence through the windows. Deputies arrested Patrick Johnathan Lambert, 42, listed as transient, on suspicion of attempted residential burglary and booked him into jail. Ephrata police also responded to the incident.
At 1:43 a.m. Sunday, authorities were advised that an intoxicated male subject was behaving aggressively and refusing to leave his employer’s property in the 9600 block of Ridgeview Drive NW near Crescent Bar. It was alleged that the suspect made sexually suggestive comments and grabbed the genitalia of emergency medical personnel who had also been called to the scene. Grant Whitlock Thomas, 40, Auburn, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of third-degree assault.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 12:27 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, in the 8500 block of Lybbert Drive NE near Moses Lake. The complainant said his ex-wife was at the location in violation of a court protection order. Deputies took Genavieve Noel Scheideman, 32, Moses Lake, into custody for the alleged violation and resisting arrest.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 1:31 a.m. Saturday at an unspecified location. Authorities were told a male subject hit his girlfriend. Giovanni George Learned, 37, no town listed, was booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
A domestic disturbance was reported at 1:33 p.m. last Friday, Sept. 4, near the intersection of Interstate 90 and Silica Road, about six miles west of George. Lisa Jolene Balanga, 61, Gold Beach, Oregon, was booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).

EPHRATA POLICE
At 7:58 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, police received a crisis line notification of a male subject having homicidal and suicidal thoughts. An officer initially contacted the man by phone and described him as extremely intoxicated. County behavioral health personnel issued a pick-up order for the man, who was transported by police to Columbia Basin Hospital for medical clearance prior to a mental health evaluation.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 8:14 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, in the 400 block of East Division Avenue. A Moses Lake woman told police she had been in a physical altercation with a male acquaintance who was now following her vehicle. Officers located both individuals and determined the man, identified as 35-year-old Daniel Alvarez Madrigal of Moses Lake, was the aggressor and was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and booked into the Grant County Jail.
While on patrol at 3:47 a.m. Wednesday, an officer observed a male subject carrying a 5-gallon bucket while walking along Fourth Avenue N.W. The officer contacted the man and determined after an investigation that the suspect allegedly siphoned gasoline from a vehicle. Duane Alan Bolton, 31, Cashmere, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree vehicle prowl and third-degree theft.
A two-vehicle collision involving a minor injury was reported at 6:10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, in the 300 block of Basin Street S.W. Police said Alexandra S. Miller, 28, Soap Lake, was cited for following too close after her 2017 Jeep Cherokee struck a 2018 Toyota Corolla driven by Camilo R. Tamiche Bello, 43, of Quincy. Both vehicles sustained reportable damage.
At 7:57 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, officers located a wanted suspect near the intersection of State Route 282 and Dodson Road NW. Antonio Tavera Corona, 38, Soap Lake, was accused of assaulting a 50-year-old woman and damaging property around 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of E Street N.E. Corona was booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence), and an outstanding district court warrant.
At 12:11 a.m. last Sunday, Aug. 30, police were notified that a woman who ordered a pizza from an outlet in the 1100 block of Basin Street S.W. was seen slumped over the steering wheel of a parked vehicle. An officer who contacted the woman observed some aluminum foil in her lap after she awoke. The woman voluntarily handed over a small bag containing white residue, told the officer that she was fine, and agreed to walk home with her pizza.
A noise complaint was received at 10:32 p.m. last Friday, Aug. 29, in the 400 block of Eighth Avenue S.E. The complainant said he contacted neighbors regarding loud music and the neighbors in turn increased the volume louder. Officers contacted the subjects, who were celebrating a birthday, and warned them about the disturbance. The music was turned off.
SOAP LAKE POLICE
At 12:16 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, police were notified of a possible trespassing incident in the first block of South Juniper Street. An officer contacted a male subject who did not have valid permission to be on the property. A records check showed the man, identified as 64-year-old Willie Gerald Arredondo of Moses Lake, was wanted on a state Department of Corrections detention warrant. He was taken into custody and booked into the Grant County Jail.
At 11:02 a.m. last Wednesday, Aug. 26, police were notified of a 911 hangup call where people were heard yelling in the background. An officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of North Fir Street and contacted two individuals who said a 34-year-old Ephrata woman had assaulted a 36-year-old male during a dispute. A report was submitted to the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of a domestic assault charge.
A theft was reported at 8:32 a.m. last Monday, Aug. 24. Police were told that wood had been stolen from a construction site in the 800 block of South Aster Street. Video footage in the area identified a vehicle and two suspects. An officer contacted one of the suspects, who agreed to return the stolen goods. Both suspects were trespassed from the property.
A hit-and-run incident involving vehicle damage was reported at 10:03 a.m. last Sunday. Aug. 23, in the first block of North Canna Street. A 62-year-old Wenatchee woman told police that an unknown motorist had struck her legally parked vehicle, then left the scene.
The following individuals were cited for driving with suspended licenses after recent traffic stops: Mario Knigge, 21, Moses Lake; Adelina Verchirko, 18, Tacoma.
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF
A domestic disturbance was reported at 6:39 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3. The complainant said her boyfriend’s uncle was trying to hit her boyfriend with a stick. Erick Ibanez, 35, no town listed, was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), second-degree malicious mischief, and an outstanding district court warrant.
At 8:54 a.m. Thursday, deputies located a wanted subject. Johnny Alvarez, 19, Warden, was taken into custody on a superior court arrest warrant for failure to appear or comply on an original charge of unlawful aiming or discharge of a firearm. Alvarez was booked into the county jail.
A report of unusual circumstances was received at 2:58 a.m. Thursday on State Route 283 North near the intersection of Road 2-NW. The reporting party said he encountered a car parked in the middle of the roadway and occupied by a crying woman holding her neck. Responding deputies contacted the woman and a male companion who allegedly grabbed and choked her during an argument. According to the report, both individuals appeared to have been drinking. Nicolas Calihua Panzo, 29, Quincy, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree assault (domestic violence) and felony harassment/threats to kill.
At 3:44 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, deputies located a wanted subject on the South Sand Dunes Road near Moses Lake, Misty Jean Baker, 40, Moses Lake, was taken into custody and booked into jail on outstanding superior and district court warrants.
At 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, authorities were notified of a wrong-way driver in a white Toyota Camry approaching Ephrata. The alleged driver, 41-year-old Jose Luis Quintanilla of Quincy, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence.
At 11:06 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, Dorothy Louise Peters, 61, Soap Lake, was taken into custody and booked into jail on a state Department of Corrections detention warrant.
At 9:17 a.m. Tuesday, John Joseph Nava, 49, Moses Lake, was taken into custody and booked into jail on a superior court warrant for failure to register as a sex offender.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday at an unspecified location in the Moses Lake area. The complainant said a male subject had elbowed a fellow roommate in the face. Jesse Jay Oliver 59, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked into jail on two counts of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and one count of harassment/threats to kill.
A report of suspicious activity was received at 7:45 p.m. Sunday at an unspecified location near Moses Lake. Authorities were told that a male subject was observed dumping trash on a roadway and, when confronted, claimed to be involved with law enforcement. Deputies arrested Ryan Scott Phelps, 43, Moses Lake, on suspicion of second-degree reckless burning and littering (greater than one cubic yard).
A domestic disturbance was reported at 9:08 a.m. last Saturday, Aug. 29, at a rural location near Ephrata. The complainant said her former boyfriend had struck a female family member. JD Keith Yarbrough, 34, Ephrata, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
A one-vehicle wreck was reported at 5:22 a.m. last Friday, Aug. 28, near the intersection of Road R-NW and Martin Road NW. Responding deputies said beer cans were observed in and around the vehicle and two male occupants, described as intoxicated, were transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center for treatment. The 19-year-old passenger sustained abdominal bleeding and a fractured femur and ankle in the wreck, according to the report. The driver, 28-year-old Joshua Eliseo Lopez Moreno of Quincy, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular assault.

EPHRATA POLICE
A one-vehicle, non-injury collision was reported at 12:59 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, in the 1000 block of Basin Street S.W. A 76-year-old Soap Lake woman was exiting a parking space and confused the accelerator with the brake pedal, causing her 2015 Buick Enclave to strike a building. The car was towed from the scene; the building sustained reportable damage.
A theft was reported at 8:23 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the 100 block of Ivy Street S.E. Police were told that a BMX-style Mongoose fat-tire bicycle had been stolen from a resident’s front yard. No suspects were identified.
At 2:13 p.m. Wednesday, police were notified that a male subject was inside the Ephrata Walmart store after previously being banned from the property. Matthew Aaron Schlehuber, 45, Ephrata, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespass and booked into the Grant County Jail.
An assault was reported at 9:02 a.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of K Street N.E. The complainant said she was waiting for a bus when she was punched in the back by a juvenile. She asked officers to document the incident, saying there had been similar prior incidents.
A weapons violation was reported at 2:02 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, in the first block of Linda Ridge Loop. Officers contacted a 16-year-old Ephrata boy who had been posting online photos of himself displaying a handgun. The teen was taken into custody for unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful carrying or handling of a weapon.
A traffic hazard was reported at 3:58 a.m. Tuesday on Third Avenue S.E. The cap of a fire hydrant had been removed, allowing water to spray across the road and create “a large lake.” Ephrata fire department personnel responded to close the hydrant and public works staff temporarily closed the street to through traffic.
An unwanted person was reported at 7:32 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, in the 1300 block of Nat Washington Way. Store personnel at the Ephrata Walmart said a female subject had come to the store on three occasions and threatened employees after her sister had been detained for alleged theft. Police contacted the woman by phone and said she was trespassed from the Walmart property.
SOAP LAKE POLICE
A municipal animal violation was reported at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the vicinity of Ash Street and Second Avenue S.E. The complainant said a resident in the area was feeding multiple stray cats, which were attracted into neighboring yards where they were breeding and spraying property. The complainant said she had to use her own resources to remove multiple litters of kittens.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the first block of North Fir Street. An officer separately contacted a man and woman who had been arguing in a dispute over the care and feeding of their son.
A court order violation was reported at 4:37 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, by a 33-year-old woman who said she had received an online message from a person in violation of a court no-contact order. The order was confirmed and the incident was under investigation.
Michael Wenz, 46, Ephrata, was cited for no valid operator’s license and expired vehicle registration following a traffic stop at 1:22 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, near the intersection of Aster Street and Sixth Avenue S.E.
A report of suspicious activity was received at 4:35 p.m. last Friday, Sept. 18, in a field west of South Division Street behind the Soap Lake Gardens apartments. Police were advised that an outdoor fire was possibly started by two juveniles seen running toward the nearby apartment complex. The fire was extinguished and an investigation was underway about possible reckless burning.
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF
Incident locations, towns of residence, and narratives were not immediately available from the sheriff’s office for four individuals booked into the Grant County Jail early today (Sept. 25) and Thursday, Sept. 24, on separate, unrelated offenses. Those individuals and their alleged criminal charges were: Gonzalo Reyes, 70, harassment/threats to kill; Darla Jo Stocker, 63, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence); Scott Lynn Nowlin, 62, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence); and Eulises Garibay, 27, physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and an outstanding district court warrant.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 7:54 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the 2800 block of Road 11.3-NW, south of Ephrata. Authorities were told a male subject was arguing with a female family member and allegedly dragged her to the ground, then hit and choked her. Rolando Valdez, 29, Ephrata, was arrested by deputies and booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree assault (domestic violence). Ephrata police assisted at the scene.
A two-vehicle collision was reported at 6:58 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Road 11-SW and Adams Road SW, about seven miles northwest of Royal City. Deputies said Giovanni Beltran, 29, George, was driving south on Adams Road and attempted a left turn onto Road 11 when his 2015 Toyota sedan collided with a northbound 2008 Cadillac Escalade driven by Moises Pachevo-Cruz, 51, no town listed. According to the report, both drivers appeared to sustain minor injuries and were transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for medical evaluations. Beltran was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way, and no proof of vehicle liability insurance. The two vehicles were towed from the scene.
A report of suspicious circumstances was received at 5:57 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of North Stratford Road in Moses Lake. Authorities were told a female driver appeared to be passed out in a vehicle in the drive-thru lane at a McDonald’s restaurant. Karlianne Senn, 45, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
A disturbance was reported at 3:06 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, in the 9000 block of Bong Loop NE in the Larson housing area near Moses Lake. Authorities were told a male subject displayed a sword and threatened two older family members. Deputies said the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Cavin Owen Searles of Moses Lake, appeared to be distraught and under the influence of drugs. The sword was confiscated and Searles was booked into jail on two counts of felony harassment/threats to kill.
Authorities received a report at 2:43 p.m. Tuesday from a woman who alleged her children were being abused by a male family member living in the 5000 block of Road I-NW near Ephrata. The report was under investigation.
A theft was reported at 12:03 p.m. Tuesday in the 14500 block of Baseline.5 Road SE, about five miles southeast of Moses Lake. The complainant said a handgun was stolen overnight from her unlocked vehicle. No suspects were immediately identified.
At 11:05 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, deputies located a wanted subject in the 4300 block of Roberts Place NE near Moses Lake. Michael Birrueta, 38, Moses Lake, was taken into custody on outstanding court warrants and booked into jail.

EPHRATA POLICE
A domestic disturbance was reported at 10:07 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, in the 300 block of E Street N.E. The complainant said a former male partner had come to her apartment in violation of a court no-contact order, assaulted her, stole a bottle of vodka, then fled on foot. The 23-year-old woman said she punched the man in the face before managing to lock herself inside the bathroom. About 90 minutes later, a woman notified police that a male with a bruised face approached her vehicle on North Basin Street and asked for a ride because “the cops were looking for him.” She refused. Grant County sheriff’s deputies and Soap Lake police assisted in a search for the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Gadge E. Reeves of Quincy, who was located around 3 p.m. in the 600 block of E Street N.E. Reeves was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), violation of a court no-contact/protection order, harassment (domestic violence), interfering with reporting of domestic violence, resisting arrest, and an outstanding district court warrant.
A theft was reported at 12:55 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, in the 300 block of Basin Street S.W. Police were told a male subject shoplifted merchandise from the Ephrata Safeway store and drove away in a black Chrysler 300 sedan.
A disturbance was reported at 7:36 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in the 200 block of Nat Washington Way. Police were told that a male subject was yelling and threatening staff at Columbia Basin Hospital. Officers contacted the man, who calmed down and said he was hearing voices and having suicidal thoughts. The man admitted he needed help and agreed to get treatment.
A trespassing incident was reported at 3:25 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in the 2200 block of Basin Street S.W. The complainant advised that a female subject was at the location in violation of a court protection/no-contact order. Sayda Villatoro-Castro, 27, Quincy, was taken into custody for the violation and booked into the Grant County Jail.
A two-vehicle, non-injury collision was reported at 3:01 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the intersection of H Street and First Avenue S.E. Police said two drivers entered the intersection at virtually the same time: Daniel Ambriz Hernandez, 44, Ephrata, was driving a 2008 Honda Accord which struck a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek driven by Jason Demello, 40, of Dartmouth, Maine.
Following a traffic stop at 7:34 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the 300 block of First Avenue N.W., Charles Cole, 23, Ephrata, was cited for driving with a suspended license.
A theft was reported at 11:26 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, in the 2500 block of Basin Street S.W. Police were told a wood splitter and bundler had been stolen from Oasis Park sometime between Sept. 4 and the reporting date.
A behavioral disturbance was reported at 2:12 p.m. last Monday, Sept. 14, in the 200 block of Nat Washington Way. A woman said she was transporting her 25-year-old son to Columbia Basin Hospital for a mental-health assessment when he tried to jump out of the vehicle while it was moving. The man left on foot and reportedly made statements about having police shoot him. As a precaution, police advised nearby Ephrata Middle School to go into lockdown. Officers located the man and transported him to the hospital for an involuntary evaluation.
A two-vehicle collision was reported at 7:06 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14 in the 400 block of Patrick Road. Police were advised that Justin C. Manson, 25, Ephrata, was driving a 1990 Honda Accord which struck a parked unoccupied 2017 Toyota Tundra pickup. Both vehicles received reportable damage and the Honda was towed from the scene. A Washington State Patrol trooper responded to the location to assess Manson for possible impairment.
A report of harassment was received at 3:25 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14 in the first block of Linda Ridge Loop. A woman told police that a juvenile subject wanted to fight her son and threatened to get a firearm. The juvenile fled on foot, but officers later located him and determined he was not armed. The juvenile said he wanted to fight because the other boy threatened him with a knife on Saturday. Police said it was part of an ongoing dispute within the neighborhood. The involved parties were advised on how to seek court no-contact orders.
While on patrol at 4:26 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, an officer observed a wanted subject in the 300 block of Basin Street S.W. Todd Shane Homer, 40, Moses Lake, was taken into custody for two outstanding district court warrants and booked into the county jail.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 10:23 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13 in the 700 block of Third Avenue N.E. The complainant said her son forced his way into an apartment by throwing a brick through a window. The male subject was initially detained but later released after learning it was his place of residence.
A theft was reported at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, in the 200 block of Basin Street N.W. The complainant said her wallet containing her bank card and identification cards for her children had been stolen from her unlocked vehicle.
MOSES LAKE POLICE
At 12:11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, officers responded to a report of a trailer fire at a mobile home park in the 2300 block of West Marina Drive. Officers contacted a female subject, accompanied by a young daughter, who allegedly admitted being upset over domestic issues and used gasoline from her car to set the trailer on fire. Kristin Marie Stepper, 37, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of first-degree arson, reckless endangerment, and criminal mistreatment.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 11:54 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, in the 200 block of East Ninth Avenue. The complainant said her brother, who appeared intoxicated, arrived about 90 minutes earlier at their apartment which they also shared with the suspect’s girlfriend and their two young children. The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Manuel Olivarez of Moses Lake, allegedly grabbed his sister by the throat during an argument, hit her on the head, and took her phone to prevent her from calling police. She fled to a neighbor’s home for help. Responding officers arrested Olivarez for second- and fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), second-degree robbery (domestic violence), and unlawful imprisonment (domestic violence). He was booked into the county jail.
SOAP LAKE POLICE
A disturbance was reported at 4:22 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, in the 500 block of West Main Avenue. The complainant said there had been yelling coming from a residence since 4 a.m. An officer responded to the residence, heard yelling inside, and contacted three occupants who were advised to stop yelling.
A report of harassment was received at 7:20 p.m. last Monday, Sept. 14, in the first block of North Evergreen Street. An officer contacted the complainant who alleged his neighbors were talking about him from their yard. When further questioned, the man admitted he had never spoken with his neighbors face-to-face and did not know who they were. The officer took no further action and cleared.
A report of an unwanted person was received at 4:37 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at a residence on South Daisy Street. The woman told an officer that her former partner was getting released from prison after eight years of incarceration and she did not want him returning there. She was advised to seek a court restraining order.
At 1:41 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, an officer conducted a welfare check with a man observed lying in a van parked in a lot at the intersection of Daisy Street and First Avenue S.E. The man admitted he could no longer care for himself and needed assistance. He was transported by emergency medical personnel to Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata, and police notified Adult Protective Services of the incident.
A theft was reported at 1:33 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, in the first block of South Division Street. The complainant said a security camera valued at $120 had been stolen from the building. No suspects were identified.
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF
A robbery attempt was reported at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, at the Big Wally’s Convenience Store along State Route 17 North at Coulee City. Authorities were told a male subject tried to assault an employee while stealing a container of milk and a meat stick from the store. Deputies located the suspect at his Coulee City home. Donald Edward Compton, 47, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery and booked into the Grant County Jail.
Following a traffic stop at 9:29 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at the intersection of State Route 17 North and East Broadway Avenue at Moses Lake, Santiago Valdovinos, 23, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 10:37 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, in the the 6900 block of Road U-SE at Warden. Authorities were told a male subject tried to enter a home through a locked door and damaged the residence. Deputies later located the suspect, identified as Oscar Maltos Garcia, 40, Warden, who was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass (domestic violence) and third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence).
Authorities were notifed at 10:08 p.m. Friday that a female subject had been an accessory to a domestic assault. Deputies located the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Ashley Wilkins of Moses Lake, at a location in the 8900 block of Craw Lane NE. She was taken into custody and booked into jail.
A report of weapons was received at 9:37 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the intersection of Roads 9-NW and V-NW near Quincy. The complainant said they were in a vehicle being chased by unknown suspects armed with guns and knives. Deputies were not able to locate the alleged assailants.
A disturbance was reported at 11:22 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in the 1800 block of West Crouse Street near Moses Lake. The complainant said a male subject stole money from her car and when an argument ensued, the man allegedly made threats and took her phone. Deputies responded and arrested Owen Howard White, 49, Moses Lake, on suspicion of third-degree theft and harassment/threats to kill. He was booked into the Grant County Jail.
A vehicle collision involving livestock was reported at 9:24 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the intersection of Roads U-SE and 2-SE near Warden. Authorities were told that a motorist struck a bull in the roadway. The driver was uninjured but the bull and the car were both totaled.
A report of an impaired driver was received at 9:33 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the 400 block of South Wanapum Drive near Beverly. Staff at a convenience store said a male customer appeared to be under the influence of drugs and departed in a vehicle. Deputies located the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Brennan Patrick Woods, listed as transient, who was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and two outstanding district court warrants. He was booked into the county jail.
Following a traffic stop at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, near the intersection of East Third Avenue and South Balsam Street in Moses Lake, Samuel Mendez Cantu, 43, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked into jail for driving with a suspended license, alcohol-ignition interlock violation, and failure to transfer vehicle title within 45 days.
Following a traffic stop at 9:26 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, near the intersection of Road 1-NW and Beverly-Burke Road NW, Rodolfo Ruiz Mejia, 34, Quincy, was arrested for driving with a suspended license, altered trip permit registration, and outstanding district court warrants. After being handcuffed, Mejia fled on foot but was located by a K-9 dog and taken into custody on an additional charge of third-degree escape. A companion, 23-year-old Melody Rosas Gonzalez of Quincy, was also arrested on outstanding court warrants. Both were booked into jail.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 9:32 p.m. last Saturday, Sept. 12, at an unspecified location. The complainant said she was bleeding after being hit by a male subject. Dillon Lazeke Liddle, 24, no town listed, was arrested and booked on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.
Following an undercover drug operation involving officers from the Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team, Mike Ambroise, 34, no town listed, was arrested at 5:58 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, and booked on seven counts of possession, manufacturing or distribution of a controlled substance.
A domestic assault was reported at 2:27 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at an unspecified location. Authorities were told that a male subject was observed beating a female acquaintance. Chad West Faircloth, 37, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
A one-car fatality vehicle accident which apparently occurred the prior evening was discovered and reported at 9:56 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, on Road 5-SW southwest of George. Deputies said Dana Steiner, 62, Othello, was driving east in a 2000 Nissan Altima, failed to stop at the intersection of Beverly-Burke Road and struck an irrigation canal embankment. Steiner, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said alcohol appeared to be a contributing factor in the wreck.

EPHRATA POLICE
A report of harassment was received at 4:03 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, in the 1000 block of Basin Street S.W. The complainant said she was followed to her vehicle by a male subject who yelled and harassed her, blocked her progress, and flashed a tattoo of a law enforcement badge. The man was not identified.
A theft was reported at 2:01 p.m. in the 1100 block of Basin Street S.W. Police were told that a female subject had left the Ephrata Safeway store around 1:30 p.m. after shoplifting groceries valued at $150. The woman was described as having red hair and wearing glasses and a black tank top.
A vehicle prowl was reported at 8:18 a.m. Thursday on 15th Avenue S.W. The complainant said his vehicle registration, a sweater, perfume, and a car starter had been stolen from his car. The report did not specify whether the vehicle was locked.
A theft was reported at 7:42 a.m. Thursday on Statter Road. The complainant said two steel fork extensions each measuring 8 feet in length were stolen about 45 minutes earlier. No suspects were immediately identified. The loss was estimated at $2,000.
A report of suspicious circumstances was received at 2:27 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, near the intersection of West Division Avenue and C Street N.W. The complainant said she was walking when an unidentified male subject driving a black Ford sedan tried waving her over to his car. She said the man, who appeared to be Hispanic and wearing a neon-yellow face covering, then followed her in his vehicle until she walked into the nearby Grant County Courthouse to call 911.
At 8:12 a.m. Wednesday, police arrested a male subject on an outstanding district court warrant. Matthew Shawn Walker, 36, Ephrata, was taken into custody at the police station and booked into the Grant County Jail.
On Monday, Sept. 7, police were contacted in the morning and again in the afternoon regarding a male subject walking around talking to himself and behaving erratically. Officers initially contacted the man in the first block of E Street N.E. and again in the first block of D Street S.E. In both instances, the man appeared to be having mental health episodes but refused to be seen by emergency medical personnel and was not considered to be a threat to himself or others.
A disturbance was reported at 9:31 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, in the first block of G Street N.E. Two males who had been drinking got into an altercation, police said. The incident was under investigation.
At 7:22 a.m. Sunday, police were notified that a male subject was looking through windows and saying “weird things” in the 400 block of East Division Avenue. Officers formally trespassed the man from one property, but he allegedly returned to the same location about a half-hour later. Patrick O’Donald Hanford, 49, Moses Lake, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespass and booked into the county jail.
A welfare check was requested at noon on Saturday, Sept. 5, in the vicinity of the 400 block of Hilltop Drive S.E. Police were told a male subject was rolling in the dirt on a path below a residence. Officers contacted the man, who said he was on a “spiritual journey and doing okay,” the report stated. The man was told to stay off private property.
Following a traffic stop at 9:35 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, in the 1300 block of Basin Street S.W., Princess Nunez, 22, Quincy, was cited for driving with a suspended license and expired vehicle license tabs.
A two-vehicle collision was reported at 6:09 p.m. last Friday at the intersection of Alder Street and First Avenue N.W. Jennifer A. Blankselee, 48, Davenport, was cited for following too close after her 2014 Honda CR-V collided with the back of a 2011 Ford Fusion driven by Dianne J. Paulson, 65, Seattle.
A two-vehicle collision was reported at 4 p.m. last Friday on Basin Street S.W. Police said Shelly G. Robideau, 73, Soap Lake, was southbound and attempted a left-hand turn when her 2019 Toyota Corolla struck the front end of a northbound 2012 Subaru Impreza driven by Jenevy Y. Cruz, 18, no town of residence listed. Robideau was cited for failure to yield.
SOAP LAKE POLICE
A welfare check was requested at 12:42 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the vicinity of Smokiam/East Beach Park. An officer contacted an adult female who said she was experiencing “episodes” and requested medical assistance. The woman and a child companion were transported to Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 7:57 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7, in the 300 block of First Avenue S.E. Police were told that a male subject had been involved in a physical altercation with an acquaintance. The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Arturo De Jesus Bravo Solano of Soap Lake, was later located and taken into custody by a Grant County sheriff’s deputy. Bravo Solano was booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
At 1:15 a.m. Monday, an officer observed a vehicle traveling without headlights turned on. Following a traffic stop near the intersection of Daisy Street and Fourth Avenue S.E., Melissa Daugherty, 49, Everett, was cited for a vehicle/child-restraint violation.
While on patrol at 10:04 p.m. last Friday, Sept. 4, an officer observed a vehicle with expired license tabs on State Route 28 West. Following a traffic stop, it was determined that the driver was wanted on an outstanding Grant County Superior Court felony warrant. Marina Ines Martinez, 43, Soap Lake, was taken into custody and booked into the county jail.
Following a traffic stop at 6:46 p.m. last Friday on Second Avenue S.E., Jeremy Hamm, 27, Marlin, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no proof of vehicle liability insurance.
While on patrol at 4:34 p.m. last Friday, an officer observed a male subject enter an unoccupied building in the 100 block of South Daisy Street after previously being trespassed from the property. The man was identified as a 45-year-old Soap Lake resident who faces a possible charge of criminal trespassing.
A burglary and theft were reported at 12:33 p.m. last Friday at Soap Lake High School. A school maintenance supervisor told police that a trailer containing tennis gear had been broken into at some point dating back to June. Entry was gained by prying off the trailer’s latch and lock. No suspects were immediately identified.
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF
A domestic disturbance was reported at 6:50 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at an unspecified location. The complainant said there was a physical altercation involving her husband. Deputies contacted the woman, identified as 39-year-old Shimalka Dineshi Bodaragama of Glendale, California, and concluded she was the primary aggressor. Bodaragama was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and booked into the Grant County Jail.
At 6:32 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, deputies assisted Moses Lake police in a vehicle pursuit that eventually ended near the intersection of Pioneer Way and East Hill Avenue. According to an MLPD report, a female motorist driving a 2012 Dodge Caravan was observed crossing all travel lanes and executing U-turns on several roadways. The woman was initially stopped at one point but refused to exit the van, then drove away again before being penned in by law enforcement vehicles near the Moses Lake Safeway store. The driver, identified as 41-year-old Jaspe Janna Rodriguez of Othello, allegedly later admitted to consuming cocaine and failing to stop because she had a suspended driver’s license and did not want to go to jail. But she did. After being medically cleared, Rodriguez was booked into the county jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving, felony eluding, and attempted third-degree assault of a law enforcement officer.
At 5:43 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy observed a suspected stolen vehicle within Moses Lake city limits. Following a traffic stop in the 1300 block of South Shaker Place, the deputy confirmed that the 2007 Honda Civic was stolen and detained the driver, identified as Fernando Lira, 36, Othello. When taken into custody, Lira was allegedly in possession of a brass-knuckle-styled knife and it was noted that the Honda’s interior and upholstery sustained damaged estimated at $1,500. Lira was booked into jail on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a dangerous weapon, and second-degree malicious mischief.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the 11000 block of Road D.4-SE near Royal City. Authorities were told that a female subject with mental health issues had pushed down a male family member who sustained minor head and torso injuries, then damaged the patrol vehicle of a Royal City police officer who also responded to the incident. Shakira Cortez, 20, Othello, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and malicious mischief.
Following a traffic stop at 9:26 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, near the intersection of Roads M-SE and 5-SE, south of Moses Lake, Brittnee Maree Richardson-Powell, 30, Othello, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, motor vehicle alcohol-ignition interlock violation, and reckless endangerment. She was booked into the county jail.
A disturbance was reported at 12:48 p.m. Monday in the 8000 block of Patton Boulevard NE near Moses Lake. A male subject told authorities that a female subject pulled a knife on him and took his cat. Responding to the call, deputies located the suspect along State Route 17, but backed off when she allegedly threatened to stab them. A K-9 dog was deployed to track the woman, identified as 21-year-old Hannah Lynn Gannon of Moses Lake. Gannon was eventually captured and booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree robbery, felony threats to kill, obstructing law enforcement officers, and intimidating a public servant.
Following a traffic stop at 6:26 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, in the 8000 block of Valley Road NE, Daniel Michael Hector, 27, Moses Lake, was taken into custody and booked into jail on an outstanding district court warrant.
An attempted home invasion was reported at 6:51 a.m. Sunday in the 9900 block of State Route 28 East. The complainant said a male subject attempted to enter a residence through the windows. Deputies arrested Patrick Johnathan Lambert, 42, listed as transient, on suspicion of attempted residential burglary and booked him into jail. Ephrata police also responded to the incident.
At 1:43 a.m. Sunday, authorities were advised that an intoxicated male subject was behaving aggressively and refusing to leave his employer’s property in the 9600 block of Ridgeview Drive NW near Crescent Bar. It was alleged that the suspect made sexually suggestive comments and grabbed the genitalia of emergency medical personnel who had also been called to the scene. Grant Whitlock Thomas, 40, Auburn, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of third-degree assault.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 12:27 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, in the 8500 block of Lybbert Drive NE near Moses Lake. The complainant said his ex-wife was at the location in violation of a court protection order. Deputies took Genavieve Noel Scheideman, 32, Moses Lake, into custody for the alleged violation and resisting arrest.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 1:31 a.m. Saturday at an unspecified location. Authorities were told a male subject hit his girlfriend. Giovanni George Learned, 37, no town listed, was booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
A domestic disturbance was reported at 1:33 p.m. last Friday, Sept. 4, near the intersection of Interstate 90 and Silica Road, about six miles west of George. Lisa Jolene Balanga, 61, Gold Beach, Oregon, was booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).

EPHRATA POLICE
At 7:58 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, police received a crisis line notification of a male subject having homicidal and suicidal thoughts. An officer initially contacted the man by phone and described him as extremely intoxicated. County behavioral health personnel issued a pick-up order for the man, who was transported by police to Columbia Basin Hospital for medical clearance prior to a mental health evaluation.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 8:14 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, in the 400 block of East Division Avenue. A Moses Lake woman told police she had been in a physical altercation with a male acquaintance who was now following her vehicle. Officers located both individuals and determined the man, identified as 35-year-old Daniel Alvarez Madrigal of Moses Lake, was the aggressor and was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and booked into the Grant County Jail.
While on patrol at 3:47 a.m. Wednesday, an officer observed a male subject carrying a 5-gallon bucket while walking along Fourth Avenue N.W. The officer contacted the man and determined after an investigation that the suspect allegedly siphoned gasoline from a vehicle. Duane Alan Bolton, 31, Cashmere, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree vehicle prowl and third-degree theft.
A two-vehicle collision involving a minor injury was reported at 6:10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, in the 300 block of Basin Street S.W. Police said Alexandra S. Miller, 28, Soap Lake, was cited for following too close after her 2017 Jeep Cherokee struck a 2018 Toyota Corolla driven by Camilo R. Tamiche Bello, 43, of Quincy. Both vehicles sustained reportable damage.
At 7:57 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, officers located a wanted suspect near the intersection of State Route 282 and Dodson Road NW. Antonio Tavera Corona, 38, Soap Lake, was accused of assaulting a 50-year-old woman and damaging property around 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of E Street N.E. Corona was booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence), and an outstanding district court warrant.
At 12:11 a.m. last Sunday, Aug. 30, police were notified that a woman who ordered a pizza from an outlet in the 1100 block of Basin Street S.W. was seen slumped over the steering wheel of a parked vehicle. An officer who contacted the woman observed some aluminum foil in her lap after she awoke. The woman voluntarily handed over a small bag containing white residue, told the officer that she was fine, and agreed to walk home with her pizza.
A noise complaint was received at 10:32 p.m. last Friday, Aug. 29, in the 400 block of Eighth Avenue S.E. The complainant said he contacted neighbors regarding loud music and the neighbors in turn increased the volume louder. Officers contacted the subjects, who were celebrating a birthday, and warned them about the disturbance. The music was turned off.
SOAP LAKE POLICE
At 12:16 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, police were notified of a possible trespassing incident in the first block of South Juniper Street. An officer contacted a male subject who did not have valid permission to be on the property. A records check showed the man, identified as 64-year-old Willie Gerald Arredondo of Moses Lake, was wanted on a state Department of Corrections detention warrant. He was taken into custody and booked into the Grant County Jail.
At 11:02 a.m. last Wednesday, Aug. 26, police were notified of a 911 hangup call where people were heard yelling in the background. An officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of North Fir Street and contacted two individuals who said a 34-year-old Ephrata woman had assaulted a 36-year-old male during a dispute. A report was submitted to the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of a domestic assault charge.
A theft was reported at 8:32 a.m. last Monday, Aug. 24. Police were told that wood had been stolen from a construction site in the 800 block of South Aster Street. Video footage in the area identified a vehicle and two suspects. An officer contacted one of the suspects, who agreed to return the stolen goods. Both suspects were trespassed from the property.
A hit-and-run incident involving vehicle damage was reported at 10:03 a.m. last Sunday. Aug. 23, in the first block of North Canna Street. A 62-year-old Wenatchee woman told police that an unknown motorist had struck her legally parked vehicle, then left the scene.
The following individuals were cited for driving with suspended licenses after recent traffic stops: Mario Knigge, 21, Moses Lake; Adelina Verchirko, 18, Tacoma.
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF
A domestic disturbance was reported at 6:39 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3. The complainant said her boyfriend’s uncle was trying to hit her boyfriend with a stick. Erick Ibanez, 35, no town listed, was arrested and booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), second-degree malicious mischief, and an outstanding district court warrant.
At 8:54 a.m. Thursday, deputies located a wanted subject. Johnny Alvarez, 19, Warden, was taken into custody on a superior court arrest warrant for failure to appear or comply on an original charge of unlawful aiming or discharge of a firearm. Alvarez was booked into the county jail.
A report of unusual circumstances was received at 2:58 a.m. Thursday on State Route 283 North near the intersection of Road 2-NW. The reporting party said he encountered a car parked in the middle of the roadway and occupied by a crying woman holding her neck. Responding deputies contacted the woman and a male companion who allegedly grabbed and choked her during an argument. According to the report, both individuals appeared to have been drinking. Nicolas Calihua Panzo, 29, Quincy, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree assault (domestic violence) and felony harassment/threats to kill.
At 3:44 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, deputies located a wanted subject on the South Sand Dunes Road near Moses Lake, Misty Jean Baker, 40, Moses Lake, was taken into custody and booked into jail on outstanding superior and district court warrants.
At 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, authorities were notified of a wrong-way driver in a white Toyota Camry approaching Ephrata. The alleged driver, 41-year-old Jose Luis Quintanilla of Quincy, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence.
At 11:06 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, Dorothy Louise Peters, 61, Soap Lake, was taken into custody and booked into jail on a state Department of Corrections detention warrant.
At 9:17 a.m. Tuesday, John Joseph Nava, 49, Moses Lake, was taken into custody and booked into jail on a superior court warrant for failure to register as a sex offender.
A domestic disturbance was reported at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday at an unspecified location in the Moses Lake area. The complainant said a male subject had elbowed a fellow roommate in the face. Jesse Jay Oliver 59, Moses Lake, was arrested and booked into jail on two counts of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and one count of harassment/threats to kill.
A report of suspicious activity was received at 7:45 p.m. Sunday at an unspecified location near Moses Lake. Authorities were told that a male subject was observed dumping trash on a roadway and, when confronted, claimed to be involved with law enforcement. Deputies arrested Ryan Scott Phelps, 43, Moses Lake, on suspicion of second-degree reckless burning and littering (greater than one cubic yard).
A domestic disturbance was reported at 9:08 a.m. last Saturday, Aug. 29, at a rural location near Ephrata. The complainant said her former boyfriend had struck a female family member. JD Keith Yarbrough, 34, Ephrata, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
A one-vehicle wreck was reported at 5:22 a.m. last Friday, Aug. 28, near the intersection of Road R-NW and Martin Road NW. Responding deputies said beer cans were observed in and around the vehicle and two male occupants, described as intoxicated, were transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center for treatment. The 19-year-old passenger sustained abdominal bleeding and a fractured femur and ankle in the wreck, according to the report. The driver, 28-year-old Joshua Eliseo Lopez Moreno of Quincy, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular assault.
