Eight Tigers sign to compete in college athletics, cheer

EPHRATA — Eight Ephrata High School seniors have signed letters of intent to compete at the next level. Their collegiate aspirations — heading to five different schools — were formalized during a May 15 "signing day" ceremony at the EHS Performing Arts Center

Whitworth University

Tiger track and field seniors Hunter Mills and Alex Belino, along with cheerleader Alexa Bastida, will attend the Pirates' campus in Spokane.

Mills closes his prep career as one of the CWAC's top sprinters. A state qualifier last spring in the 100 and 200, he currently ranks second in the CWAC 100 with a season-best time of 11.34 seconds and third in the 200 (23.08 SB). He has swept the sprints at multiple meets this spring.

Belino competes in jumping events and also runs sprints and relays for the Tigers. He and Mills were both members of the Tiger 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams that placed eighth at last year's state meet.

Bastida helped Ephrata's cheer team to its first state championship in program history, taking the 2A Game Day Coed title at the WIAA State Cheer Championships in February.

Pacific Lutheran University

Caleb Moberg, a standout punter on the Tiger football team, signed with the Lutes. Moberg earned second-team All-CWAC specialists recognition this fall and honorable mention in 2024. A two-sport senior, Moberg also qualified for state in golf, tying for in the ninth in the CWAC at last week's district tournament.

Washington State University

Michael Park signed with WSU's cheer program. Park was part of this year's state championship Tiger cheer and stunt team and twice earned second-team All-CWAC offense recognition in football.

Spokane Falls Community College

Two Tigers will compete at SFCC. Senior midfielder Delanie Killinger leaves Ephrata as a three-year all-conference soccer selectee, earning back-to-back first-team All-CWAC honors as a junior and senior after second-team recognition as a sophomore.

Stella Bayley signed with the SFCC women's golf program. The four-time state qualifier placed third at the 2026 District 5 tournament. Bayley led the CWAC with a 90.4 stroke average this spring and teed off at the 2A state tournament at Riverside Golf Club in Chehalis this Tuesday, May 19.

Peninsula College

Senior soccer standout Lila Rainey signed with Peninsula College in Port Angeles to continue her athletic career. Rainey was a two-time All-CWAC selection, earning first-team honors as a junior in 2024 after a second-team nod as a sophomore in 2023. Her senior season was cut short by injury.
